Still waiting for my grandma to respawn, really letting the team down here

The respawn timer is the wheel of Samsara. Unfortunately, because it's the Wheel of Samsara, every respawn you get worse and worse gear.

I went outside one time. The graphics weren't that great.

And yeah... the mods SUCK, too. They'll ban you for almost anything.

With that rifle you could get your RAM back for free.

(not financial advice)

You sir (and/or madam) made me laugh out loud.

How dare you assume their gender is Binary, what if they are a glebulon from Tau Ceti 3???? ( Oh shit I wasn’t supposed to reveal their existence, never mind, just a silly little joke, nothing to see here)

It's legit a lot of fun. Way more fun than putting holes in paper has any right to be.

I wouldn't suggest an AR as your first rifle though. They're a pain in the balls to field strip and clean, the ammo can get pricey, and they end up in the crosshairs to potentially get banned every time the Democrats want to make a big show of pretending they're doing something constructive to curb gun violence. Get yourself a nice Ruger 10-22, cheap and easy to shoot, not at all difficult to maintain, and one of the most common rifles out there so you can find a lot of support and accessories.

They’re a pain in the balls to field strip and clean,

They're designed to be field stripped using only a bullet as a tool. Not many designs are any simpler.

Get yourself a nice Ruger 10-22,

Now THAT is a pain in the balls to field strip and clean (comparatively) . But I agree, 10/22s are awesome and make a far more practical first gun for anything other than going to war.

I mean... .22s have a history for use as a "quiet" gun...

9 blue states have banned the AR15. Guns that are functionally just as deadly are legal, but the AR is the one people hear about on the news so they ban it specifically by name in their useless feel-good legislation.

Sadly, I have to disagree. R's will take them after the fact, but D's will take them as soon as they can

2

You get better FPS with the AR-15, but I've heard that respawn doesn't work, which kina ruins it.

28

The sound system makes up for it. The AR gets louder than most $5k sound systems, and has better bass.

Timely. I have a feeling armed citizens might be necessary soon in at least one country.

I also recommend Compound Bows and Cross-Bows for when ammo is scarce - Believe me, I’ve been through quite a few civil wars in my time

Having to retrieve the arrows after shooting them at a target seems highly unlikely. Why would it be a good choice?

3

That’s kinda the point, you can retrieve your arrows after use - in the apocalypse eventually your not going to be able to make bullets easily at a certain point

Got any suggestion for actual bows? Might be fun to learn.

2

Go to an actual archery store to get fitted and try some out; read reviews in Bowhunter magazine. A lot of the differences are pretty marginal for new users. Current bows have a pretty amazing drop-off rate, which makes it very easy to hold at full-draw. But you do need upper body strength the get to the drop-off point.

If you're talking real, serious, the-end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it apocalypse, then I'd recommend getting either a fiberglass recurve bow in the 80#+ range and a few spare strings, or a Mossberg Shockwave and a single shell. The fiberglass recurve bow will be difficult to learn to shoot effectively, but it essentially maintenance-free. The Mossberg will prevent you from having to learn to use the bow effectively.

2

I don’t know, I bought a generic one off Amazon and it works great - was mostly just making a joke because of my user name

2

Isn't an AR-15 for 600 dollars something with a welded-on magazine that you pull out of a vending machine in Night City to throw away when it's empty?

13

sound of bald eagle screeching in the distance as I start up my Camaro iroc z 🙄

Same... and I am from the US! (But I'm not the typical gun-toting Gravy Seal)

There is no ram shortage. There was never a ram shortage. There was never a time since this started where ram was not available for sale.

The reason there is what is perceived as a ram shorted is because the news reported and the corporations that make ram was a good enough reason to raise prices.

Just don't fucking buy it! Dely the instant gratification!

1

No the reason is because data centers hoard all of it, and almost all of the manufacturers immediately switched from making consumer grade RAM to making enterprise grade RAM, leaving the consumer market with very low inventory and very high demand.
