Metal Gear Solid : V

The Fox engine was another kind of black magic

How is it dead through? They recently released the remake to MGS3 and it uses the Fox engine (looks like it anyway) 🤔

The Trine series is really pretty and even the newest entry has relatively modest hardware requirements.

My potato from 15 years ago could in fact not run if (fluently; had like 15 fps).

ut'99 baby. full game with healthy stack of mods would be maybe a gig or two. would look and play well on most types of computational vegetation. ok, yeah UT2004 would also look nice and play in most potatoes.

i listed more but then I looked and it showed my age so I deleted them and focused on unreal ya whippersnappers.
quit your lolligagging

UT '99... hell yeah. I sunk a lot of hours into that, even before we had the internet.

Not the same as any of these, but I always felt Spyro had a beauty to it, even if it is a bright and colourful one.

The original Talos Principle, easily one of the most stunning games I've played.
By the time I reached the desert stages I would regularly just stop and look around, soaking it in.
Damnit I need to buy a VR headset just to play it again in VR!

for the 2nd requirments, I guess it falls into any of these categories

  • old games (e.g. HL2, Doom2016)
  • indigames (e.g. Hades, Cuphead)
  • 2D games (e.g. Disco Elysium)

I’m glad to see other Bloodborne PC enjoyers on here. I spent a weekend getting mine set up and I just beat The One Reborn. Not a perfect experience, but it’s been pretty great so far.

Valheim is considerably demanding imo, have to play the game at 1080p to get a decent and consistent frame rate on my 5700 XT

I love New Vegas but gorgeous is not a adjective that I would use to describe it.

16

I don't know. In many ways I'd describe Fallout 1 and 2 as better looking than New Vegas...

Overlord, for as old as the game is (nearly 20 years now) it looks great and has a very tongue in cheek humor throughout the story giving it a lot of charm. Sadly the choices in the game amount to be nice :) or be disney villain >:(

Elden ring, Factorio, Shapez 2, Arknights endfield, Noita, Doom eternal, Arc raiders, No mans sky, HADES, HADES 2, Obama boss fight, Manifold garden, Gris, Ori and tthe blind forest, Ori and the will of the whisps, Fucking rain world ffs, Anon is a lazy cuck who only plays AAA slop

Half of those don't run on a potato, or your concept of what a potato is is pretty warped.

Factorio even has lag optimisation techniques because even a 3080 will have troubles if you don't optimise energy generation.

Factorio is usually CPU limited, it runs fine on my i9 with just integrated graphics and no discrete GPU at all.

1

Sure, but I wouldn't call an i9 a potato PC unless it has 10 years xD.

I should have listed my CPU, I have a 5800.

I think my point stands haha.

3

Elden ring would consistently get ~20 fps on my old computer which I would say had a potato CPU and a good graphics card.
