Yeah, these dumbasses still haven’t realized that they can’t do this shit themselves. Someone should tell them they have to pay other people to do it while pretending they’re not affiliated.

19

I was going to add this, and also "Why does she look like Lucielle Bluth?"

Frankly if you were ever counting on Harris and crew to save you you were already lost.

26

Yet enough of the population supports them, that with the help of he media, and the right wing and corporate interests that interfere to help them get the nominations because they can be beaten/don't pose a threat to their interests, that they can force them through again as the nomination, maybe not her but Newsome for the lose this time, to run as status quo, because they aren't the other guy, nevermind the rigging in plain sight.

Seriously without organization it's hopeless and we all are already lost, because these controlled opposition figures will continue to waste all of our efforts and frustrate any attempt to prevent the existential threats the right is pushing from coming to fruition.

Their sheep are not that many, but with the media, the influence operations, the right that manipulates us online in their favor, it seems to many other factions of the democratic electorate that they are the safe choice, that they are the inevitable choice. And throws the election, and as we saw with biden, winning changes nothing.

This is a "Pokémon go to the polls," vibe. Not a compliment.

33

I love how you have to clarify that it's not a compliment because this is lemmy and most centrists think that "Pokemon go to the polls" was a brilliant thing to say.

My primary schooler is already tired of it and has moved on. I patiently await the next silly fad

lemmy.ca

Damn, I guess that's how the Dems will manage to lose their electoral goodwill.

27

They don’t have any to lose. They are so unpopular their only chance at meaningful wins on a national level is the Republicans being so profoundly incompetent it hurts swing voters.

1
piefed.social

Shut your stupid face and crawl back into your AIPAC hole, you worthless piece of corporate Democratic trash.

26

Newsome and Pritzker had their chance in 2024 and declined to take the nomination, there for the taking.

What is wrong with the party, we have zero challenges? Only token challenges for president by an old leftist, that still almost wins. No challenges for house or senate. Then 2024 not a single challenge for the top spot, 4 plus months to go, proposed anointee the most unpopular person possible, that never breached 30% approval for a deeply unpopular administration at 40% approval for 3 years.

Then didn't see fit to offer any reform running as that deeply unpopular status quo. No health care, no drugs, no calling out business interests openly cheating us. Broad empty platitudes, we aren't the republicans.

Everyone in the party needs to be replaced with maybe a few exceptions. They were chosen to be weak, chosen because the donors fear someone taking back the license they've corruptly garnered through captured government, fear a populist government would modestly impair their record profits from their companies.

the same thing happened to millennials. they got blamed for being stupid teenagers when they were in their mid twenties. it seems it takes about a generation for the old folks to catch up what's the new word for the youths nowadays, by then it's often barely accurate anymore

gigachadreply

The generational concept is also a bit weird, like if huge waves of children would be born every 10 years lol

11

yeah it's a bit weird agreed. i think it attempts to describe more a culture of the youth of a certain decade rather than the people on their own? idk

3

Well, there was after WWII. And a smaller wave when boomers came of age. Though boomers have been trying to shoehorn us into generational boxes ever since.

I'm pushing towards 50 and this feels cringe to me. So logically this should be the coolest thing ever for the kids, right?

21

My nephew told me about how a kid at school got punched for doing it on the playground because so many kids are fucking sick of the meme.

She'll do

Purity Tests are cringe af

Let her organize grassroots so you can complain about whatever the lawn produces because the alternative is an oil spill.

sh.itjust.works

No.

She was one of the central players that lost the Republic. I don’t ever want to see her fucking face again in politics.

She was a bad candidate in 2016 and 2020, and she was demonstrably a catastrophic choice in 2024. And by that I mean her lack of backbone in standing up to monied interests shows that she entirely lacks the grit and will that our current era demands. Too much compromise with the neoliberals and hypercapitalists, not enough listening to actually fucking citizens and lived experience. Walz was the brightest spot in her campaign. And then she and the DNC muzzled him, with predictable results.

4
feddit.online

There are no "good candidates", the central players that defeated the Republic are the collaborative efforts of a group of billionaires and foreign dictatorships turning social media against democracy. Any progressive candidate will face the same uphill battle and the nation will slide further into conservative autocracy unless we do something to stop it.

1
lemmy.world

I don't need perfect, but I want a candidate that's pretty solidly against genocide.

But too tough for her though.

1
feddit.online

Biden tried to broker peace, withheld large bombs that Israel had already paid for. Trump and other GOP candidates are favored by Israel, explicitly endorsed by Netanyahu.

If you care about Palestinians then you should endorse Kamala and whoever else the DNC candidates are, because the alternative is worse.

-2
lemmy.world

I'd rather the democratic party decide genocide is bad actually than blame the people who chose not to vote for people who aren't against genocide.

1

The DNC have never supported Genocide. Biden tried to broker peace, withheld ordinance. He did not do enough, that is true, but the GOP explicitly do support actual genocide and by not supporting the DNC you've enabled the genocide.

-2
sh.itjust.works

With a single digit quantity of exceptions, the vast majority of our political establishment are somewhere between overt fascists and inept, useful idiots who are manifestly unfit to face the challenges of this fucked up new era we find ourselves in.

1
feddit.online

You can rail against the entire political system all you like but you have a moral responsibility to participate in order to minimize suffering.

0

I have and I do. I am under no illusions that the “less bad” party is actually trying meaningfully to improve things, or that it will do anything to stop the fascists. Because they’re not doing anything to stop the fascists.

She can't even tell the difference between Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

Good thing is, this bullshit of hers may kill 67 hype for good.

I'm not sure I can tell the difference between Gen z and Gen alpha, the lines are pretty blurry with these "generations".

sh.itjust.works

Easy.

Gen Z folks are in their 20s. They're either in college or already in the workforce.

Gen Alpha folks are still in grade school.

Lemme ask you this: have you ever seen a college kid making that 67 reference?

4

I have seen college kids laughing at my kids making the 6-7 reference, particularly my 5 y/o. Does that count?

Mate my friend group are nearly in our 40's and we make the 67 reference all the time.

Seriously, can this woman just disappear from existence? Like at least Biden learned to keep his fucking mouth shit after killing American democracy.

19

She's not nearly as bad as Gavin.

Her and Biden's admin was full of LGBT Cabinet members and they protected gay marriage.

2

She isnt smart. That meme is already dead. She chasing trends, might as well say pokemon go to the poles.

14

Jfc, she and 67 meme? Facepalming intensifies.

But also, maybe if she is going to be cringe with 67, maybe meme dies faster.

14

A new headquarter to ignore Democrats and progressive ideas and being out of touch with the average voter?

Lady, you had your chance and blew it hard. Just fade away gracefully and let the younger generation take over.

14

Its like there is some kind of Establishment Democrat playbook for political stunting, and its just non-stop weak-dick cringe.

They don't understand the memes of the vox populi, they don’t even understand memes are speech at this point.

13

I voted for her in 24 and I was glad to. I'm sorry she lost. But I don't think it's wise she run for President again in 28. Governor of California? Great. Let California decide. But the stakes are too high for the Presidency.

12

If we had a fair primary process, one where funding/media coverage wasn't deliberately skewed like in 2016, I wouldn't mind her running. I need to fact check myself on the details here, though — can't remember if it was media coverage and funding or just media coverage in particular biasing Clinton

Ninja edit: ok there was some fuckery for sure, but I didn't realize the votes were so heavily favoring Clinton. Either way, that's what primaries are for. I'd rather have Harris over Newsome, personally

3
feddit.cl

gen Z

the 6-7 meme slop.

Is like when oled people don't realize they're milennial.

Gen Z are who we are in our 20's or like 17 at the minimum, Gen A is whom you call kids.

Glad I'm not from the US so i don't have to cringe over this lol.

Naw I like this move. Obama ended "thanks Obama" with his own use of it, since no one would ever top that. Maybe Kamala can end 6-7 in her own way.

19

She needs to sit down and shut the fuck up somewhere far away and without internet access.

Fr I am so tired of seeing this two faced anal discharge in the news.

10

Finally now when people say "6 7" I can ask if they're talking about this thinktank bullshit

5

This is so cringe it hurts. And I'm Gen-X.

Of course I despise this whole pointless 67 thing so maybe it will kill it.

At least my generation's pointless fascination with numbers actually related to something.

4

Reminds me of Obama's jokes about Hillary from the White House Correspondent's dinner from 2016. Hi, it's Aunt Hillary? Did you get my poke?
