Mostly they’re protested by people who don’t want to see them, or possibly hear them (I’m not sure that they are actually loud enough to be louder than whatever wind is blowing them unless you’re right next to them), or people upset about the number of birds they kill (although most of the people I’ve seen complaining about the bird deaths seem to be supporters of fossil fuels so their sincerity seems a bit dubious).
