I guess we're ignoring the fact that they've kidnapped US citizens because they were brown.

"Don't be a minority" is a rule so deeply ingrained in their ethos they think it's universally understood already.

Well she did obey them but they gave conflicting instructions and shot her anyways.

lemmy.ca

Important to note for clarity, disobeying an officer's instructions is NOT the same as disobeying the law.

35

Step 1, everyone is illegal except for the people that were already here if you wanna get technical.

Step 2, maybe ICE shouldn't attack us, it's self defense from the very beginning

Step 3, oh boy. Maybe ICE and supporters should do a better job at following those laws and not take orders from a guy with 37+ felonies.

Food for thought unless you're to dumb to eat

i have a white supremacist translating device, here goes:

  1. be white, or else
  2. stop resisting! 🐽
  3. don't leave your house if you're not white
35

Rule 2 doesn't help because they will deliberately give conflicting instructions and shoot anyway.

How to avoid ICE:

  • Dont be a US citizen
  • Dont be pulling out of your driveway
  • Dont leave room and wave them by in traffic
  • Dont be friendly and tell them "I'm not mad at you"
29
  1. Don't live in the USA.
  2. Don't visit the USA.
  3. Under no circumstances should you live in or visit the USA.
28

These don't work. "Be white" used to apply for a while but even that doesn't anymore. I think now it is "be white and suck up to fascists"

I have a Don't Tread On Me sticker on my Car and I AGREE! If you DONT want ICE to Murder you just do LITERALLY EVERYTHING THEY SAY without Question EVEN if their Instructions are "ILLEGAL" or "CONFUSING"!

Fuck that. Your complacency, and that of those who think like you, are half the reason we're in this place. It's like telling a woman being beaten by her husband to just shut up and do what her husband says and he won't hurt her. Sheep and cowards think this way.

My apologies. I spent too long on social media today and obviously needed a break.

1

"Sounds like my friends and I can show up at your door in fake ICE outfits and make your gargle on our balls. And if you refuse, we'll beat your ass, and you won't do anything about it."

20

"In today's news, another us citizen of non-pale complexion was arrested by ICE, despite being married and working here for 20+ years."

20

"How to avoid I.C.E." Notice how it doesn't say, "How to safely get through an encounter with I.C.E."

It's always interesting how much people's specific choice of words betrays their true feelings. The only reasonable goal with ICE is to avoid them, because once you encounter them, your safety cannot be guaranteed, no matter the circumstances.

Also, it's quite a laugh for a Trump supporter to suggest that people should "Obey federal and state laws." Trump doesn't even think he should have to follow the Constitution, which is the basis upon which all of those state and federal laws can be enforced.

They're complaining about other people accidentally breaking a building's windows while they're intentionally destroying its foundation.

i couldn't figure out what was going on. first time the cursor got in the screenshot and i couldn't get it out

Not guaranteed to work. What if you're off duty and they don't believe you when you say you work with them?

They already ignore passports, birth certificates, driver's licences and social security cards.

Love how this most basic image of text still looks like it has the fucking piss filter on it.

Guess licking that boot made them too stupid for mspaint even.

7

Even after ICE detains or even deports (or murders) US citizens and legal residents, they still have the nerve to say this.

It's hard to describe, but text in AI generated images tends to have the same font and colour pallet

(The image shared by the oop, not the one you posted to be clear)

7

Yup, it definitely is. Like you said, it’s hard to explain but you can just tell after seeing a couple of them.

5

AI explicitly generates images based on what it was trained on. If nobody used this color scheme then AI wouldn't have generated it because it couldn't have been trained on it.

The background color evokes paper, especially older paper. It's a common motif.

3

the off-white background and low contrast font color are signs for sure

there are also subtle differences between each usage of a given character (the serif on each "e" and the apostrophes stand out most to me) and inconsistent kerning

2

ICE is so clearly operating outside the bounds of the law. They do not have any jurisdiction to enforce state laws, yet we're being told encounters with ICE are justified if we don't obey state laws?

5

Sassafrass84 doing another bang-up job of demonstrating why persons strapping their heads to a running buzzsaw sometimes leaves them completely unchanged

4

How to avoid?

Not be in the USA.

Well I am just saying that if they are not alive it is easier to avoid them.

Throw over the government, this might help.

4

I dropped the bomb that ICE according to their stats is one of the only agencies that doesnt make mistakes, and my distrust the goverment familey thought i was giving them genuine praise. Like the idea that they could even have faults is beyond the pale for some. Its insane

Nice screenshot of a mouse pointer. ::: spoiler Post needs accessibility: post's URL field can be filled in. Images of text break much that text alternatives do not. Losses due to image of text lacking alternative such as link:

  • usability
    • we can't quote the text without pointless bullshit like retyping it or OCR
    • text search is unavailable
    • the system can't
      • reflow text to varied screen sizes
      • vary presentation (size, contrast)
      • vary modality (audio, braille)
  • accessibility
    • lacks semantic structure (tags for titles, heading levels, sections, paragraphs, lists, emphasis, code, links, accessibility features, etc)
    • some users can't read the image due to lack of alt text (markdown image description)
    • users can't adapt the text for dyslexia or vision impairments
    • systems can't read the text to them or send it to braille devices
  • web connectivity
    • we have to do failure-prone bullshit to find the original source
    • we can't explore wider context of the original message
  • authenticity: we don't know the image hasn't been tampered
  • searchability: the "text" isn't indexable by search engine in a meaningful way
  • fault tolerance: no text fallback if
    • image breaks
    • image host is geoblocked due to insane regulations.

Contrary to age & humble appearance, text is an advanced technology that provides all these capabilities absent from images. :::

So this person must agree that when you do all those things and ICE still gets you, there should be hell to pay for those officers, correct?
