I have done, and Russia and various other dictators around the world. Basically, if you give them a reality check on any of their daddies you soon get a busy inbox.

.ml and hexbear love to suck dictator balls, while calling all other boot lickers. However, I’d rather lick a boot than suck balls.

1/3 people riffing on the joke.

1/3 people taking the joke seriously and losing their shit because I was "wrong."

1/3 people who are illiterate, didn't get the joke because they couldn't comprehend what they were reading and losing their shit for absolutely insane reasons.

Unless I preface it with "Seriously, tho" I ain't being serious 'bout shit.

I started to use tone indicators recently, i think i am going to use them more often on Lemmy

My reaction to seeing new message notification on Lemmy: "Oh God, who did I piss off and which comment was it?"

It happens a lot less often here than it did on Reddit, but I too get a slight twinge of dread from it.

Lemmy is for sure more chill. It used to be more chill when I first signed up and even the political communities were quite cordial even when there was a difference in opinions, but some reddit refugees brought their negativity and one-upmanship attitudes with them when they migrated here.

I still have a more positive experience overall here, but every now and then the most innocuous comment can set off a bunch of people's tempers.

Yeah definitely agree, was very nice during the original big exodus. And I do notice a very Reddit style of dialog pretty often, but I also notice people saying "oh actually you're right and I was wrong" here, not infrequently.

But then I also think some key (ongoing) world events have put everyone on edge. For myself I'm much more prone to an uncharitable read these days, due to all the apologia (and outright propaganda) I see for stuff I can't stand.

Wait, are you using thunder? For me it just shows 99+, does it skip straight to 999+ once you get there? I assumed it was showing 99+ cause they didn't wanna fit more than 3 digits on the nav bar icon

Edit: nvm, that looks like a different client- which client are you using?

I’ve been having a hard time reaching you. The bodies are going to work their way out of the soil. With all the rain and the construction, they’re finding their way topside soon. You still live near enough to find your way there without drawing any attention, right? We’ll piecemeal the disposal between the two of us. Don’t disappear again.

Only to realize it is just some tankie using 3 seperate accounts to underline their utterly deranged and irrational argument against you.

I often get an "ugh, not dealing with that rn" reaction. Reddit let you mute notifications for replies on a per-comment basis, which sometimes was really nice. Especially useful when dozens of people decide to reply to one comment of yours with similar comments, or when it's just more useful to open the entire thread in another tab.

Piefed lets you mute replies, I believe, by pressing the little bell next to your comment.

I'm very bad at managing my inbox when there are replies I don't feel a need to reply to... And probably there are ones that got lost in the pile who I did wanna chat with 🥲

Sorry to hear that. Everyrime I am here and get something in my inbox it was usually a helpful comment.

So in this case I hope reading this in your inbox gives you a lil smile for today :)

Is it because most of your comments are bundles of joy like this one?
