Using Jerboa currently, but it's pretty clunky unfortunately for me.

It's been getting quite a bit better over the last few weeks with more contributors

I'm using Jerboa. It's pretty good, but some things are unintuitive. For example, I don't know how to navigate to a reply from my inbox.

17

I haven't been able to figure that out either. I'm not sure it's something that can be done right now.

3

Memmy and Mlem. Both are solid for only being in TestFlight. Mlem seems to be focusing on larger releases, Memmy is updating about once a day.

Am using Jerboa aswell, like it overall!
My only struggle is - particularly on image posts - to hit the right area to open the comments and not the image, not the OP profile or anything else.

14

yes, this drives me nuts as well. In generale the whole process of reaching the comments is not that smooth. For example I wouldn't mind reaching the username of OP or the istance AFTER opening the post

2

Idk how I developed this habit but whenever I want to view comments of a post, I just hit comments icon at the bottom bar of the post or the empty space of the bottom bar. Never had a problem opening comments.

I’m using memmy now, it’s missing a few things but apart from that it’s great.

12

I'm pretty happy with Jerboa. I am primarily a browser/desktop user, so having a somewhat limited mobile client hasn't been bothering me. And it seems to be moving toward a fuller experience.

Using Memmy and actually really enjoying it so far. Of course it's not perfect yet, but transition to Lemmy completely is made far easier with it.

6

Same here! It definitely “unlocked” my understanding of Lemmy. Yes it’s not perfect but it’s also only in TestFlight so that is to be expected at this early a stage.

Summit

It's only been in development for a couple of weeks, but I already like it a lot more than Jerboa. It is missing features though because it's so new.

4

I stared off on Summit but ever since I found Jerboa, never went back. Jerboa seems almost fully fledged app.

Memmy on iOS. Already pretty polished, and more so than Mlem (though I hope development on both continues…choice is good!) Dev is updating very regularly too.

Have a link to Limbo? Search results are dominated by the video game.

1

Nice, thanks! I think Memmy might be taking the lead though. That developer is a god damn beast and is pushing like 4 updates a day 😆

1

I’ve got beta on Mlem, Memmy and Limbo and I’m liking Limbo the best so far.

I'm using Progressive Web App off MS Edge, Jerboa is way too rough for me atm

2

Jerboa until Thunder gets more features. Or Sync by that time. Or Artemis. Who knows!

2

A mix of Mlem and Memmy. Both are in TestFlight but they are solid options. Not sure which I prefer more yet though.

I jump between Mlem and Memmy on iOS.

Mlem is definitely more slick and loads images better.

Memmy feels more feature rich (currently) but I don’t like how the account switching works.

I’m a bigger fan of Mlem personally, it feels closer to what Apollo was and could see it heading more in that direction.

2

Agreed. Just need to get a working inbox and then I don’t have to use the web app haha

1

Jerboa but it is very rough round the edges.

  • can't create a community
  • cant link to the discussion from inbox replies
  • finding communities on the search function is busted (but this is a wider lemmy bug)
  • can't just type a community address to go there (or at least I can't figure it out)
  • several bits are quite unintuitive

However it is still early days and will undoubtedly improve

It does have glorious dark mode though

Memmy and Mlem.

Both are very early betas and still missing a lot of features.

Memmy is updated at least once a day, so far. You can experience it being built up in real time.

Mlem is more of an ambitious project, and it seems to be updated once a week. The updates are huge though.

Mlem's focus seems to be on accessibility, where as Memmy is on design.

Both have an active Matrix or Discord chat where you can share feedback with the developers. They're all great folks, all working hard, and all good listeners.

Neither of these apps will look the same next week as they do right now - due to the fact they're being constantly worked on. So who knows which one will be best.

To note, Mlem does not support iOS 15 whereas I believe Memmy does.
Memmy is also working on an Android release, though getting the beta approved by Google is a work in progress. My understanding is that that could be available as early as today.

That said, Mlem met their beta-test limit of 10K users.
Memmy still has room available.

1

Mlem. The way it’s coming together, I’d gladly pay for it

1

I think it is too early to worry about this, if you can access it with a mobile browser imperfectly. New apps and adaptations of Reddit viewing apps are likely to start proliferating very soon. So I'd just watch and wait.

1

Just a mobile browser. It's not perfect, but it's better than deddit's terrible official app. Give it some time, there are several apps in beta.

1

Currently using Memmy. The developer adds new features a few times a week. It’s actually pretty fun to get the updates and see them building it piece by piece. We just got a profile page as of this morning. Interface has the gestures I liked in boost. Haven’t used others since most the betas are full.

1

The mobile web interface is the most cromulent out of any web interface I've ever used. So I just use the Firefox container shortcut on my homescreen and it's fantastic.

None. I used Reddit on old. Convince me why an app is needed

Because mobile web sucks for lemmy, and I don’t want to carry my laptop to the bathroom.
