people will often label themselves as simply following their own beauty standards when their "own" is clearly influenced and by majority is the current fashion, simply because that's all they have been exposed to. And thus they will justify following current fashion disguised as following their own unique style when more often than not it is simply not true

Not sure about an STD but alopecia is hair loss iirc and is often a symptom or result of other medical issues. It's certainly not limited to head hair.
