At least, AI has made us far more critical of images and videos. This would not be posted today, except as humor.

I'm not confident we'll be able to continue to easily spot AI slop, and I expect we're all already being fooled daily. But, at least we all know it's possible, and to be skeptical of what we're shown.

Studies have shown that when people are aware that images and news stories might be faked (whether through AI or photoshop) people are no better at identifying which are faked but just become more distrustful of everything and just start to misattribute genuine pictures to AI.

I find it annoying when it’s text. Like, if someone uses a well written, professional or flowery style, people say “okay ChatGPT!” as if humans can’t write anything anymore.
