Honestly the width = thumb is a pretty accurate measure for feeling comfortable in the hand. Smaller phones gave me finger cramps.4

I have a Sony Xperia xq-es54 and it matches this pretty well.
My Unihertz Atom fails this test, and it's the smallest phone I'd had in about a decade!
My ideal phone is like 6.3 inches
