I've been buying the big cans of gatorade powder lately because I've been busy and they are cheap. But they are still absurdly expensive for what is essentially just salt with food coloring and artificial flavor, and I dislike how much sugar it contains.
You shouldn't text and drive, but I keep noticing myself doing it anyway. As part of my efforts to return to the caveman days and spend at least some of my time disconnected from the internet, I want to stop this. However, I have terrible impulse control. So the only solution is to put my phone in the trunk before I start driving, and use something else for the tasks I would normally use my phone for. Here's what I want:

My car is a 2013 Corolla with a broken stereo that I've been meaning to replace anyway. I know there are a number of products out there that more or less fit my needs and/or could be hacked together into something workable, but I'm asking the hivemind. Tell me what to do nerds! Tell me how to live my life!

Probably I will end up with a head unit with android auto, but I've never used one of these before, and don't know how well it will isolate me from my phone. Will I need to get a separate cheap-o phone to use it with to ensure distraction isolation?
If I do go this route, I am wondering about make/model recommendations so I don't buy something that will break immediately.
Finally, is paying for spotify just the way to go these days? I’ve been avoiding it by using newpipe for years, but newpipe doesn’t have radio-like functionality to just pick a station and listen.
Title. Obviously youtube is out. Google results have been unhelpful. I tried Pornhub, but no dice. I wanna learn how to shave my twig and berries nice and smooth, because I'm a considerate partner - but I'm tired of trial and error and nicking myself on the nuts.
I'm seeing a bunch of posts about how Google has decided to stop allowing side loading on Android phones. But the EU relatively recently forced Apple to do the exact opposite. Won't they just do the same thing for Android phones? Sure, people outside the EU market will lose this ability as a default, but presumably you can just order a Euro phone on ebay if you are outside the EU.
So why is everyone panicking? I think Google is definitely being shitty by trying to do this, and I support the development of other open source alternatives. I like the fact that this could be a big wakeup call for that effort. But I am wondering if this is also not as big of a deal as everyone is making out.
I became vaguely aware of this... fashion trend? a few years ago on reddit. And it seems there is now at least one Lemmy community devoted to it.
So genuine question - is all streetwear just an elaborate joke, like when that guy put a urinal in an art museum to make a point about the nature of art? Because it seems like the unifying theme in streetwear is that it all looks like it is intentionally bad. Like the designer saw all the ways normal people dressed themselves poorly, and emphasized those traits. If I saw someone walking down the street in clothes I normally see posted on /c/streetwear, I would wonder what kind of bet they lost.
Do I just not "get" art? Am I now just one of the olds? What is going on here?
