Spider-Man: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

Weird that Uncle Ben went on to become the twice elected President of The United States. Kinda kills the rewatch.

Critics Say: ...

Actually, critics refused to comment on this for some reason. They seemed incredibly nervous to give an opinion one way or another.

Still at awe of how much money Venom made despite all three movies being hot garbage

11
lemmy.world

I think it just goes to show how bad most movies really are. People watched Venom and were like "this absolutely isn't the worst thing I've seen in the last 10 years."

15

Maybe I don't watch enough movies, but after stumbling on the third Venom movie while it was on Netflix, I might honestly consider it the worst movie I've seen in the last 10 years.

2

I haven't seen them but I know a couple people who love those movies. They were upset that they're never all available on the same services.

1

After years of DC trying to copy Marvel, Marvel was like, I bet we could cram a bunch of heroes into a shitty movie too. They were right.

16

Is that like Cloak and Dagger? One, that wasn't a movie. Two, I don't remember their real names.

1

All the Terry Crews Old Spice commercials. Admit it, swapping him in for captain marvel in Endgame would be an amazing swap that I lack the skill to edit.

"MIND-YOUR-OWN- BUSINESS MAN!!!

COP: he plans to rob six banks in 36 hours. We know his list but not the plan-

Mind your own business man : and they're all insured? By the FDIC?

Cop: it's a crime sir

Myobm: yeah ... Three of these got bailouts in the housing market chrisis and the other three forgiven loans in COVID.... All more than what's about to be stolen ...

Cop: doctor theft plans-

Myobm: doctor serves them damn right if you ask me. I'm sitting this out. Not my problems.

6

The third act where Mind Your Business Man realizes that his money at the bank wasn't insured, and the bank will recuperate without compensating him was actually Top 5 Anime Plot Twists of All Time.

"You tried to mind your own business, but little did you know the business never minded you. Mwahahaha"

I enjoyed Madame Web. Its not a good movie, but got a laugh from the whole cinema (10 people in my showing)

6

Madame web is so god damn funny it's hard to not love it. Like how often in a movie do you see the main character just drive off into a side quest. Or a super hero movie where all the heroism is done by driving badly. And at the end he gets defeated by Pepsi™

8

Sony Pictures appears at the start of many awful films. I think it's their thang.

5

They were so brave for skipping over the origin story where he got bit by a bat

No, sorry mate. If you're running your own instance, you gotta send your usename and password with every request, as the first line of the post. That way it gets interpret as a basic auth HTTP header and makes it able to federate to the main server.

Sorry, I'm stupid is there actually a main server? Or is that part of the joke?

2

that is part of the joke, but i think the main part of the joke is that they're responding to your comment asking if your comment federated in the negative, despite the fact that by being able to read and respond at all from another instance, it is clear that your comment did federate.

3

That was sony?

Also, I know this meme is mostly accurate, but weren't the OG spider mang movies beloved wave sony in association with marvel?

This night be a personal take, but I also don't really rate, or at least personally enjoy, any of the marvel stuff in the last half a dozen years.

1

"She-EO" was pretty good but the sequel killed it. She really didn't need a love interest and they forgot the whole point of the first movie was her ability to be a Girl Boss. She wasn't supposed to depend on men... Ugh. 😮‍💨

TBH it made me like "Greg Man" more. At least the characters were well defined. Like, I get that Greg is pretty weak as far as super heros go but there was a lot of character development and damn his letter opener was cool! The villain was fucking crazy too! Guy Normal... Most relatable villain back story. We've all been there.I get why he decided to go that route, it's tempting as hell in times like that.

Gnatt Man: That's my secret. I'm always hungry.

Ant Man: I'm sorry, are we... Are we out of ideas as a franchise?

Evel Knievel movies. Although I did really like the series.

Not every Marvel movie is bad... It's just that after releasing so many, you'd think more of them would be good.

I feel like this is just hating 😭 If you can't name ONE good Marvel movie after Iron Man, then you just don't like Marvel or The MCU at all, or stopped watching them. I'm not even saying 5 or 10. There's like 36 of them. The first Captain America, Doctor Strange, Endgame, Spider-Man, Guardians--, if you just hate ALL of them, then there was never going to be a Marvel movie you enjoyed. The first Iron Man is great, but I'm not sure if it makes Top 3 out of every MCU movie tbh.

Why spend the effort when it is clear you have already either made up your mind or are trolling?

3

I’ve watch a lot of them not because I wanted to, when I’ve said that most Marvel movies are utter shit people get angry and typically coerce me in some way to see them, like : you didn’t see it your opinions are not of value blah blah blah.

The first Ant Man had potential but they fired the director exactly because it had potential.

The first Daredevil series was ok maybe a little bit more but it start going down the hill shortly after.

Each Marvel are build the same fucking way and doubly so after GotG which make them not unique at all. They’re always the same thing movie after movie after movie. Easy movie making for the most money

At least the first Iron Man was new (Black Panther had really cool design and prop makers)

Nolan’s Batman was a great work because it was not the same 3 movies, that’s not that hard but that’s not what Marvel/Disney want to do and what they are doing is bleeding their franchise dry.

I love Comic but Disney is killing it

Well, I'm agreeing with everything @[email protected] answered to this, but I genuinely don't know why, if Marvel movies are just generally something you don't like, Iron Man 1 is such an exception.

As they also said, especially in the beginning there were many really highly praised movies. Especially the original Avengers movie, Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Civil War.

5

Yeah, I'm not gonna stan marvel movies, but Iron Man 1 as the ONLY marvel movie you think is good is certainly a take... I don't know what the BEST marvel movie is, but it's hard to pick one, and not think another one similarly hits what you liked about that one. Maybe they just really liked Iron Man specifically and after Tony told the world he was Iron Man it just killed it for him once all the other heroes started getting screentime.

I'll admit, I didn't really care much for the MCU until Spidey showed up, and it wasn't until catching up that I realized that I quiet enjoyed a few of them. For every miss, there's usually a hit, and a lot of mid-tier ones.

High praise don’t means good.

But I’ve said my piece and I’ve seen most of the counter arguments already, none made me change my mind.

MCU was a mistake

Nobody wants to change your mind, people are allowed to make bad takes. The question was just if you want to elaborate, but this feels increasingly troll-ish

6

A little bit of troll and a little bit of truth.

I do really feel that every MCU movies is a bad movie and I’m aware that saying it out loud sound like trolling

-2

Why did you explicitly exclude Iron Man 1 in your first comment then?
