Always knew programming socks were beneficial in way more applications than just programming but I didn't think this would be one of them. The more you know.

There is a series of documentaries where people of many professions wear them. It is a bit on the weirder side because they always end in sex, so not sure how scientific this docu series is.

Hmm how weird. I wonder what the name is? Ya know.... for scientific reasons :3

There is a german speaking train subreddit where like half of the train drivers are femboys (or it is just the same two people posting so often that my perception is skewed), so I would guess that it is fine. Gender non conforming people and trains just go well together.

I will remember this next time I'm told "sänk ju for träwelling wis Deutsche Bahn".

25

I bet it's the same reason there's a lot of GNC people in Linux communities. Trains and Linux similarly attract many autistic people, and autistic people tend to be less attached to gender roles (correlation not causation). It's speculated that as a result, autistic people tend to be more likely to explore their gender identity (this bit hasn't been studied yet afaik) and then you end up with trends like this. Train drivers and programmers are all femboys and trans people

Well I COULD, hypothetically, see an employer not being exactly ecstatic about their employees doing this while apparently on company time. I know it's unlikely for OP's employer to not only see this but also think it worthwhile to find out who they are, I mostly wanted to make a dumb joke ;)

I think cooked people started to believe certain words like covid and racist were getting their posts less exposure on social media, so they started censoring it like this (even though its embedded in the image) and now it seems to be a trend for people who think they're leaking some ground breaking anti government data, but they're just talking about chemtrails or Bill gates.

I've tried to talk about the bad things Trump has done/said, in the comments sections on YouTube. If I don't censor myself, by misspelling words or leaving out keywords, nobody can see my comment, even me. I have to walk around the issue and point to places where the information actually is, in order for anyone to see it. That results in most people thinking I'm wrong, but it's either that, or do nothing. It could be the YouTube channel, but some of them are left leaning channels and it still happens

exactly this lol. lots of people always come into this convo talking tough shit because they simply just don’t go to places where shadow banning happens. not every site is like lemmy/reddit with little to no algorithm manipulation based on keywords. it’s honestly embarrassing when people refuse to accept that and act all uppity.

6

this discussion invariably happens at some point sigh xD

some sites have ocr and will take down or algorithm limit your posts if you have certain language. i got this from one such site. i was NOT about to go to twitter and give them traffic to find the original. sorry not sorry lol.

I don't think he's the reason the train is late, they seem to be stopped at a station. He's just taking the opportunity while stopped to take a picture.
