My favorite trick is using another bottle to open a bottle.

Rings. I'm married and have a tungsten ring, so it's basically always on my hand. Some bottles don't give you much room to get under the cap, but I can get most anything open pretty quickly.

During my fraternity days, I would often say, "the world is my bottle opener" just before using some random object to open a beer.

All that really matters is if its sturdy and small enough to catch over your knuckle and under the rim. Literally any object like that will work.

Best/portable: Bottle opener keychain, most alcohol shops will give you one, there's usually a beer doing a promo with them, just ask them because they probably have a box they keep forgetting to give out.

Creative: probably lawnmower.

Hmm. I'd have the concern that the lighter could break spewing butane everywhere.

Cap against edge of concrete ledge. My friends and I bought a bottle of cider at a 7/11 and realized we didn't have a bottle opener. Cue that moment of brilliance from my mate.

Angle just the cap onto the edge of a table and pound it with your fist. Results not guaranteed

I've done this before and left very angry scratches

The trick is to do it on a table you don't care about, like your crappy roommates' table that's definitely not an antique, Greg.

Learn from my mistake.

Don't use a knife as the lever.

Doubly so if you're already intoxicated.

Just because its theoretically possible does not make it a good idea.

Not so much at the time. Just messy in a biohazardous way.

Now the next day, sans booze... Yeah. Basically butterflied my finger a bit.

I'm not sure I could identify every type of pain, but that was certainly one of them.

You reached the end
