I used to have a mini fridge in my bedroom, too. I'd be more worried if the mini fridge was in the kitchen where a regular sized fridge would normally go.
Knowing how extremely scarce living space is in japan i can see how the fridge might end up wherever there is convenient empty space. All in all not that terrible
