Title pretty much sums it up. Watched a video recently where someone was asked to name a black superhero that didn't have lightning based powers and while I could name a few it made me realize just how prevalent the trope is.

But why?

Edit: Y'all I'm not asking for examples of black heroes that don't have lightning powers. I'm asking why it's a trope to begin with 😮‍💨

Addictions are horrible things. They destroy lives, families, opportunities for success.

One of the main reasons why it's so hard to quit an addiction is that no one cares about the withdrawal symptoms.

Your job doesn't care that you're vomiting out your guts. Your bills don't care that you physically can't work. Your family members (generally) don't care about the effects of withdrawl.

It's almost impossible to get clean without a strong support group because even a single missed day of work due to withdrawal symptoms can mean losing everything causing you to want to relapse because "what's the point?"

How the fuck am I supposed to quit when it results in my family losing everything because I can't work because I'm too fucking sick or agitated to work?

Drywall never felt such fear.

I've been going through a lot recently. Multiple jobs, bills piling up, and my current relationship is falling apart. I want to cry. To bawl my eyes out and scream at the top of my lungs. But I can't. It feels like there's a wall between me and my emotions. Anyone else deal with this?

Obviously I know ice is just solid water but would ice be heavier than the same volume of water if you account for the expansion of water as it freezes?

I'm only curious because I know that as water freezes it traps air molecules inside its crystalline structure so I was wondering if it trapped enough to cause a distinguishable difference in weight between the two states.

The long way

The chef I work for did a demo on how to properly filet a salmon then told us to come up with a dish that represents our individuality.

So I deep fried it and brushed it with barbecue sauce then put it in the oven to glaze the barbecue then garnished with green onions.

Should've left it in the oven longer so the barbecue could glaze more but was worried about over cooking the salmon.

Overall 9/10. Perfect blend of savory, sweet, and slightly tangy.
