If the choice is between school shootings or CEO shootings, the latter is preferrable. I'd take that trade even if I were a CEO, but I doubt most CEO's would.
JD Vance says that school shootings are just a “fact of life.”
Then it's logical that preventing politician shootings should be budgeted similarly. Time to defund the entire secret service as part of those 75% government employee cuts. School shootings being resourced differently than oligarch shootings is a violation of the equal protections clause of the constitution, and therefore an illegal waste of our tax money.
Tbf that's one of the ones they typically try to pass. One of the more popular ideas (outside of feature bans) is "tax the shit out of them." In effect that means "stop the dirty poors from having them, but a rich guy who can pay the tax is fine."
This was literally the basis of the National Firearms Act, which is a federal gun law we very much already have and have done for a long time. It was originally enacted in the 1930's with the express purpose of preventing the blackspoors from achieving arms parity with which to defend themselves from whites the rich, and had a specific focus on "concealable" arms which could conceivably be used to take out high profile political targets. Which is something that was at the forefront of every seedy politician's mind in the era coming right out of Prohibition and leading into the Great Depression, I'm sure. Boy, that sounds eerily familiar.
The NFA bans a wide swath of arms and arms adjacent things including short barreled rifles and shotguns, fully automatic guns, and silencers/suppressors.
Oh, wait. Did I say "banned?" It actually just slaps a mandatory $200 federal tax on them with a ton of paperwork, with failure to comply under penalty of the ATF kicking in your door and shooting your dog. Note that in the 1930's $200 was an exorbitant amount of money that would be absolutely unattainable for the working classes simply to afford a shooty toy, but was easily within reach of the robber barons of the time. Oh, and the police and military also got a full exception. Of course. For reference, $200 in 1934 dollars (when this was passed) is equivalent to $4,711.40 today. And for further perspective, a nice shotgun in 1935 would cost you around $40 in the currency of that time.
"Sure, boy, you can own that gun. All you have to do is file all this extra paperwork and pay us five times more than what it's worth in taxes."
Related fun fact: The original incarnation of the NFA was originally intended to apply to all handguns. Think about that one for a minute.
(Edit: This was meant as an addition, not a correction.)
A) That's bad, theus poors (not trying to speak for you, but that includes me lol I'm poor af) deserve the right to SBRs, SBSs, suppressors, AOWs and IMO, FA, just as much as any rich bastard who can pay the fees.
And
B) As we can see from this very incident, taxing it does fuck all, murders can still happen even with those taxes, and by a poor without stamps at that. Even if we amended that tax to be the price of a Corolla today, I guarantee he didn't even pay the $200 tax (if he did he'd have had a booster on the can lol), if you're going to murder a dude on camera at 6am on a busy street in a city where suppressors are illegal you're not gonna fill out a form 4.
Most school shooters, and probably hoodie guy, own their guns legally. Most other types of crime, like robbery, the guns used are stolen or illegal anyway.
Well, hoodie guy is dubious. It's almost impossible to get a gun legally in NYC, upstate it is a bit easier depending on the county, but it's still not super easy. 100% he wasn't carrying it legally at least, but I highly suspect from watching the video that he's using a poorly milled "ghost gun" (because he had to spank it into battery after he cleared a malfunction) which is illegal in NY, and a homemade suppressor without a Neilson device (because it wasn't cycling the slide at all, causing those malfunctions,) which is illegal federally (well, kinda, but why Form 1 one of those?!)
As for school shooters, many do, but many steal them from parents as well. In either case "taxes" are not the answer, poor people deserve the right just as much as rich people, and they have just as big of a need for it (if not more, being that rich people can employ security and are targeted less often than you think).
A reminder that California's famously strict gun laws started as a Republican reaction to black people owning guns and forming citizen militias to protect their neighborhoods from criminals and oppressive government thugs.
Indeed, Ronnie Racist Fucking Reagan and a senator who panicked when the armed Black Panthers(?) walked into the State Capitol building during a protest. Before that, California was open carry, locked and loaded.
Exactly this. But you wont see one gun from rich people, while the rest of us have to mandatory turn in our guns. There are no laws for people that can throw money at the courthouse to let them do what they want. In america its only "legal" to do illegal shit if your rich
I keep seeing evidence that the rich don't give 1% of a shit about the rest of us, but I keep sending myself "thoughts and prayers" that that's not totally true and we don't have an open class war going on in the US.
Many school shooters talk about wanting to be seen, wanting fame/notoriety, and so on. With the huge positive response to this, it wouldn't be too surprising to see copycats. "If I do this, people will remember me and love me for it."
"Now is not the time to focus on solutions to CEO shootings, we're thinking and praying, and then we just need to move on... As then it won't be time to look in the past."
They're already rushing to try and false flag this as an angry tranny. If traps are that good at killing children, why would they keep them out of the armed forces? It makes no fucking sense
You're not wrong to question this. "Gun Violence Archive" labels any shooting (as in literally any time a gun goes off) on school property a "school shooting". Some teacher ices themself in the parking lot? School shooting. Some gang kids blast each other in the yard at 1am? School shooting. Someone pops off a negligent discharge that doesn't hit anyone? School shooting.
CNN has tweaked this formula by only including times someone besides the shooter actually got shot, so a bit better than usual but still a useless number that we can't use to make informed decisions.
it’s bad data like this is the reason most people ignore these bullshit headlines.
Sounds like you have an agenda to protect your own gun fetish and are ignoring or twisting data that doesn't suit your own needs. A quick review of your postings and your talking about ammunition calibers confirms it. I think putting your gun fetish above the lives of children is one of the most unmanly things I have ever seen. But you do you, tough guy.
Sounds like you have an agenda to protect your own gun fetish and are ignoring or twisting data that doesn't suit your own needs. A quick review of your postings and your talking about ammunition calibers confirms it. I think putting your gun fetish above the lives of children is one of the most pathetic and unmanly things I have ever seen. But you do you, tough guy. I bet you have a picture of yourself holding a gun somewhere in your bedroom, don't you.
So I provide proof that the data is bad and misconstrued....and the best you can do is make personal attacks?
Which drops your complaints about the data right into the trash where they belong.
Except it doesn't. Literally provided two random links from the GVA that are labeled AS school shootings...
You really need to think again about doing the hard things to protect your community instead of putting your own ego first.
Like making sure minorities aren't lacking in force multipliers? And not wanting to strip them of their right to protect themselves?
One of those hard things is maybe not being such a gun nut when our oversized gun ownership patterns lead to oversized gun violence problems.
Yea we really don't have a gun problem, we have a societal one. Which trying to remove guns from people is just going to disarm the law abiding ones and allow the criminals and gov/police to have the force.
Get off your arse, grow up ( I see you like to talk about video game cards as well) and get to work.
Lol you really went through my profile a ton their chief. I have been in my career for nearly 2 decades. Am the lead architect at global IT security company. Video games are what childish now? Lol
You might have kids someday and by then it'll be too late to clean up your manchild-made mess.
You're literally talking to someone with children.
JD Vance says that school shootings are just a "fact of life."
I wonder if all this rage and hopelessness is starting to find a more productive outlet.
If the choice is between school shootings or CEO shootings, the latter is preferrable. I'd take that trade even if I were a CEO, but I doubt most CEO's would.
It’s more targeted too, one target vs as many as possible.
Some of it may, but not all of it.
The children should consider working harder to increase shareholder value…
Layoffs increase shareholder value and this one gave their stock a boost.
Those hard working school shooters are doing their best to promote growth in the funeral home industry. Won't anybody think of the jobs!?!
CEOs not schools
I smell a bumper sticker.
"CEO shootings are a fact of life"
There's another one for you.
Tbf that's one of the ones they typically try to pass. One of the more popular ideas (outside of feature bans) is "tax the shit out of them." In effect that means "stop the dirty poors from having them, but a rich guy who can pay the tax is fine."

Yes, and basically what I'm saying is
A) That's bad,
theus poors (not trying to speak for you, but that includes me lol I'm poor af) deserve the right to SBRs, SBSs, suppressors, AOWs and IMO, FA, just as much as any rich bastard who can pay the fees. And

Yeah, I'm pretty poor, too.
I ain't got no suppressors, either. What a drag.
Same, shame.
"pay the tax" lol ... nah they'll just get tax breaks and find loopholes on top. paying taxes is for plebs.
Most school shooters, and probably hoodie guy, own their guns legally. Most other types of crime, like robbery, the guns used are stolen or illegal anyway.

Oh absolutely. Start letting the gun violence get too close to home and the rich will force that legislation through overnight
Literally where California's strictness on handguns originated.
Exactly this. But you wont see one gun from rich people, while the rest of us have to mandatory turn in our guns. There are no laws for people that can throw money at the courthouse to let them do what they want. In america its only "legal" to do illegal shit if your rich

77 more in the next 25 days could be a challenge
Would probably be followed by a wave of CEO resignations though, if such was accomplished.
Where’s the problem in that?
"When Americans put their minds to it, they can accomplish anything"
Best get cracking then. Any CEO conferences about?
Or, gun ownership will just become more expensive.
It won’t happen. The government will spare no expense to protect CEOs. Same cannot be said for our children.
read the image again
Spare no expense <> gun control
Gun control is actually not expensive at all. Instead they would probably grant secret service access to billionaires, or something like that.
Ah sorry, I get you now
Capital can always afford more guns / storm troopers. That's been the nature of the state since forever.
But those hired guns have limits. They have to protect their oligarchs at all times, a potential shooter only needs one time.
"Today we were unlucky, but remember we have only to be lucky once, you will have to be lucky always"
Even I have my limits.
now robotic guard dogs included for free! not for schools for but for at least one man
12 more and you get a free sub
I love rushing with SMGs
Yeah, but it will be done so that only the rich have guns.
"No guns unless it's for armed security or military" This is how to accomplish that
It's a metal tube baby. Genie is out of the lamp.
Dur hurr, 3d printer go brrr.
The immediate citation got me.
Thank you.
Motherfucker. This happened today.
The NRA would scream about it and MAGA would turn it into demonizing the rich; “y’all can afford bodyguards!”
They can take our guns, but they can never take our rusty dull guillotines
Nah let's not let them take the guns from the working class.
Worst way to kill. Person immediately loses blood pressure and goes unconscious.
Def want poison mushrooms so you shit your organs out first. Plus you can claim it was a pre-existing condition.
"Now is not the time to focus on solutions to CEO shootings, we're thinking and praying, and then we just need to move on... As then it won't be time to look in the past."
Sad but true
They're already rushing to try and false flag this as an angry tranny. If traps are that good at killing children, why would they keep them out of the armed forces? It makes no fucking sense
78? Really? What are we qualifying, “school” as THESE days???
Sarcasm, if that wasn’t implied.

I know you're kidding but....
And this

But yea totally a school shooting.... it's bad data like this is the reason most people ignore these bullshit headlines.

Here's the raw data of all shootings in the US. https://www.gunviolencearchive.org
And here's an article that talks about reviewing that data https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41488081
I hope you have kids someday.
So I provide proof that the data is bad and misconstrued....and the best you can do is make personal attacks?
That's literally where I got the data from champ.
Which again, reviews the data in a biased way....
Except it doesn't. Literally provided two random links from the GVA that are labeled AS school shootings...
Like making sure minorities aren't lacking in force multipliers? And not wanting to strip them of their right to protect themselves?
