(I was referring to the Power-On Self Test. It’s that blinky-light thing mobos do before booting off a disk. For a mobo to post, it just needs a cpu, ram and power.)
Honestly the internals aren't necessarily damaged even if the case is obliterated, but you'll need a replacement screen, mouse, and keyboard for starters. Highly likely that the damage to the sockets and ports will require removal of parts and idk if it will still post afterwards. The MB is often smaller than the case itself and the bus is often wires in laptops, so it might have survived.
All in all, probably costs more to fix than a new PC.
Most of the laptops I've had open lately have had about the top third be the motherboard and the bottom two-thirds be battery, with maybe some ports and speakers tucked down the side. So I'd expect that last of replacements to include the battery, too.
I might check whether the hard drive survived - a decent M.2 is small, expensive and reusable - and maybe the RAM if it's not soldered in.
You'll have to install it like on the bottom
looks like it snapped. Try:
When the compression algorithm goes too far
Computer.tar
.gz
.zip
.xz
Akshyually, that's just archival format, not compression.
Failed opportunity to create a compression algorithm called feather.
Yes. Arch Wiki probably has an article about this exact problem.
Yes, but it can't run flatpaks....only snaps
Great one! (Not just a nice one, a great one even.)
Now get out! Just Get Out!
Does it post?
Instructions unclear. Wrapped laptop around post.
He seemed to manage it just fine, it shows up for me with no issue

Yeah, I was just making a dumb joke cause I like bad jokes :)
It's a pun. Post as in power on self test, and post as in post to social media.
I thought you mean he'd mailed it to you.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Well, that's a challenging Linux install.
It will however run Doom as is.
I'd recommend CrunchBang, but it's no longer developed.
It went crunch but not bang yet
Just poke the battery and it will go bang too.
Enhanced Flavor™
There's actually a fork of a fork of a fork of a fork but it also hasn't been updated in 8 months
If you're talking about BunsenLabs, it's definitely still active.
I think you forgot installing the FLATpacks

It's gonna have to be "Linux From Scratch" at this point....starting with the hardware.
Of course! This is the perfect distro for your laptop
As long as internal compoments are not damaged by some reason

idk what happened but the laptop definitely seems less flatter than most of the jokes in this thread
Sure... it will just buff out
You don't need functional hardware to run Linux. It just runs on anything.
It may be very mildly damaged, shouldn't be an issue just replace some parts
Dope design.
Avg Linux install after a year
And how did it look on the inside?
No ducktape in the roller. Also, are those two packages with belkin products? Reminds of their colorscheme.
Doom should be possible.
I have an elitebook g6 running Linux just fine, I'm sure yours can too!
