Can you helpncelar something up for me? Ever since Firefox introduced the copy link without site tracking feature I have been thoroughly confused what it actually does because every time I've ever used it the URL has been exactly the same whether I used the feature or just traditional "copy link". Here on this Lemmy thread, using my Lemmy client Lemmy Connect, the link in the parent comment to yours and also the link in your comment appear identical to me. What's up with that?

Can't help you with Firefox, but it looks like OP edited his link. Youtube will add ?kc92808z0h stuff at the end, anything including and past the ? is tracker stuff.

Well at least it clears up this circumstance I was starting to think I was going crazy.

that's not universally true, a regular youtube.com link needs the ?v=k3489k8 bit to specify the video

I can get you a comment, believe me. There are ways, Dude. You don't wanna know about it, believe me. Hell, I can get you a comment by 3 o'clock this afternoon... with awards.

This is what happens Larry. This is what happens when you down vote a stranger's comment on Lemmy.

Seems like almost everyone agrees it was funny. I love how clueless Lemmings can be. Makes me feel like they're actually people instead of all bots

It's possible the commenter had never seen the movie. Quotes do get around.

Yeah, "That's just, like, your opinion, man" is very commonly quoted, but not the part that comes after.

19

If you're throwing out quotes and have no idea where they come from that's kind of on you.

I REEEEALLY wanna like the movie but I keep falling asleep when I watch it… I feel like I’m the only person in the world it doesn’t click with. I’ll give it another try soon.

7

I’ll try it again, but pothigh. It’s been a while for me, but it sounds like that’s the key.

1

I gave it a fair chance a few times, and I am not a fan. I was told by friends that I needed to be high to like it, which has confirmed in my head that it's not for me. Things should be able to stand up on their own.

I didn't like it for the longest time.. you got to be just the right high to really appreciate the movie. Love it now after a friend finally sat me down.

2

It’s been a looooong time since I’ve been pothigh, but I have some ancient dabs and an oil cart laying around. Maybe I’ll do that.

You actually think there's children on Lemmy? Young children? Maybe there is but I get the feeling that kids aren't likely to give a shit about the Fediverse.

I'm here out of principle, but also because I genuinely like it of course. I haven't exactly seen any children's influencers using the fediverse or proselytizing about it though. What is there to draw them here?

I'd genuinely be amazed if there was more than a handful of under-10 kids on here. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Yeah I can’t imagine there are a bunch, I remember specifically encountering one commenter saying they were like 13 or something in a post.

So maybe there are dozens of them

You don’t go out looking for a good community dressed like that, do you? On a weekday?

This community allows blogposting? What's the joke - randoms on the internet are assholes? Not a very strong punchline.

I get that your version of the quote may have been too modified to recognize.

...also, not exactly a "cool guy move" of you to post this, especially without removing the account details. So this guy could have had a bad day or something, and any extra grief they're getting because of this post is on you bud.

There are no winners in this little war over nothing, and that's not something to be proud of.

I’ll check with the boys down at the crime lab!

They got us working in shifts! Hahahahaha!

The person responding to op is... Let's just say... Not nice. I know from experience.
