Some Democrats Are Trying to Preemptively Outlaw a Billionaire Tax
https://jacobin.com/2023/09/wealth-tax-supreme-court-katyal-safe/Open linkWhat they need to do is outlaw or heavily restrict the ability to take a loan out of the value of an asset in stock if they can readily afford the liquid amount
If Elon wants to buy Twitter he should have sold $44 bil in his stock to buy it rather than take a loan out based on the $200+ bil and then have a consortium to fill in the rest. And if that trickles down to the middle class so that people can't take a loan off their house so be it.
Every few days or so, I'm reminded that today's "Democrats" are like the Bush conservatives of 2008. The scale has moved so far to the right...
Food from my 2 day kinda-forage based dinner party bonanza
Sushi with tempura prawns and Auricularia salad
Herby pork belly with wild apple butter, broccoli, and cabbage
Wild garlic pesto Mayo pasta salad with hazelnuts
Dragon rolls (Cali style roll with tempura prawn + cucumber with toasted sesame, avocado, and roe on top), cucumber rolls, fish stick rolls with cucumber and avo, and crispy chicken.
Stupid political signages are getting stupider
I miss the days of private citizens writing, posting or otherwise placing signs outside their residence with some creativity. There's a family about 60 miles south of me that actually CARVED their wackadoo conspiracies into a stone in front of their driveway.
Granted, it's been up for 35 years and Satan has not, as of yet, used "the marijuana" to overthrow the gubernment (this may be a typo) and Gorbachev never had Reagan assassinated to my knowledge.
