Yeah I'm never going to fuck around with the federated crap. I think it appeals to a certain Uber nerd or paranoid type but way too messy for my tastes.

I only found out about it because of what’s happening on Reddit.
Same. Trying it out as it's one of the few alternatives that seem decent and also have a mobile app (also looking at pillowfort and squabbles but those are both web only).

I feel like you're really underselling the prevalence of rgb keyboards though. There's a clear market for people who want "cool gaming keyboards" rather than simple function.
Not saying all rgb boards are bad, but things like razer boards etc are usually flash over function.
