Thoughts on integrating the feed from Lemmy into spyke?

Anyone else opening the app and finding a general lack of posts due to the small userbase frustrating?

How about integrating the Lemmy feed as well so that there's more content while maintaining the benefits of spyke like video streaming and a better overall app?

I don't want Spyke to become part of the Fediverse. I have been intentionally avoiding the Fediverse. one of the selling points of Spyke, for me, is that it's not the Fediverse

Same here. Maybe a seperate screen but definitely not in the same normal feed. Last thing I need is a mess

there may be fewer posts here, but the posts on here, I've noticed, are generally of higher quality than other places.

We're not so big right now, but that's bound to change. just give it time.

Squabbles is much better than Lemmy. Lemmy instances all have their own versions of subs and the syncing concept is really dumb to me. It’s like Reddit if it was crypto

Gotta ask, why use Spyke instead of squabbles? Lot more going on there

I don’t think there’s a compelling reason at the moment really. I like the functionality of the app here and Pulse isn’t usable yet for Squabbles. Spyke is just a few key features shy of being a basically wholly usable Reddit replacement but there just aren’t many people here yet.

Agreed, that's why I'm here, pretty easy transition from Reddit.

Gotta agree to that. As far as an app goes this is much more polished than the competition. Wonder why users aren't flocking here

I think the big issues why people are not flocking to the app is 1. The sign up issue (google only) and 2. Users can't create their own communities.

2

I like the idea but should posts be mixed in with the regular spyke communities. Or should there be completely seperate communities specific to Lemmy content?

I wouldn't be opposed. One question. . .is there any way you could rethink the whole "Swipe left/right to upvote/downvote" thing? I've accidentally downvoted several posts because my thumb slipped, without realizing I had done so. It's a neat idea, but it's just not necessary, and it's fiddly.
