Keanu Reeves appreciation post
At just 3 years old, his father abandoned him, and he went through a childhood with three different stepfathers. He has dyslexia, which presented its own challenges.
Keanu aspired to become a hockey player, but a devastating injury halted that dream in its tracks. Tragedy struck him further when his daughter was stillborn, his wife passed away in a car accident, and his best friend, River Phoenix, died from an overdose. His sister also fought a brave battle with leukemia.
Despite it all, Keanu does not surround himself with bodyguards or live in a luxurious mansion. He prefers the humble atmosphere of an average apartment and can often be spotted exploring the city on foot or riding the subway in New York City.
While working on the movie "The Lake House," he caught wind of a conversation between two wardrobe assistants. One was in tears, fearing the loss of his home if he couldn't come up with $20,000. Without hesitation, Keanu transferred the needed funds into the assistant's bank account that very day. Generosity seems to be second nature to him, as he has donated substantial amounts of money to hospitals and charities, including $75 million of his earnings from “The Matrix” franchise.
On his birthday in 2010, Keanu opted for a low-key celebration. He stepped into a bakery to purchase a brioche adorned with a single candle, enjoyed it outside the storefront, and even offered coffee to those who struck up a conversation with him.
Back in 1997, the paparazzi discovered Keanu spending a morning with a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening intently to the man's story and empathizing with his struggles for a few hours.
It's often those who have experienced immense pain and hardship who dedicate themselves to helping others. Keanu possesses the wealth to purchase anything he desires, yet each day, he makes a choice that money can't influence:
He chooses to be a compassionate and caring individual. ♥️

Keanu Reeves is the GOAT!
