I feel education in this country is headed in the right direction

I was reading about the new changes in the national curriculum framework (NCF) and it looks much more promising than what we had in school.

The change jo mujhe lagta hai will be the best change is letting students choose a predefined set of subjects and have more say in what they want to study.

Also using semester system exams is a much better option than boards.

What is your opinion? Mujhe toh kafi improvement dikh raha hai...

Education must be inclusive and give scope for individual skills and talents. The NEP is expected to initiate steps in that direction.Hope right things happen.

Okay this sounds great but in reality will not be great for the long term future. First of all in a country like India the jobs are far lessar than people. So when people want an education they want one to improve their salary.

90% people pick subjects that will get them the better jobs. Even if they are not interested. So a small amount of subjects that don't have big earning potential will have very few students and teachers. Like in my school we used to have German as a subject but it was removed bcoz not enough people enrolled.

Never thought of it that way. Unique perspective.

That is fine but what about the censorship that is going on with the topics to fit the ruling parties agenda?

Is some level of control not expected? Maybe it might be a good thing if all indians are focused on being United and don't associate themselves with their religions more than nation. Look at China. They are also doing far worse things but they are getting progress out of it.
