What is your opinion on buying diesel cars at the moment? Heard they will be banned by 2027…

Is it that just the sale of new diesel vehicles will be banned or the existing ones can’t use the road?

I think they have not been very transparent about how this rule will be executed...

"Diesel-driven 4-wheelers may be eliminated as soon as possible. Therefore, a ban on diesel-powered four-wheelers in all million plus cities and all towns with high pollution has to be enforced in five years, i.e. by 2027."

So can't say.

  1. Maybe they ban these vehicles from entering the cities (highly doubtful lag Raha hai)
  2. Maybe these vehicles will not get a registration renewal??
  3. Maybe new vehicles will not be registered within the cities but will you ban people who have registered from outside to come in city?

Aapko pata hai why they do this? Coz they know they can do anything and ppl will just shut up. If this keeps happening then one day they will also ban petrol cars then what we will just buy new vehicles ever time????

When will they ban those trucks and busses which make black smoke? I see so many. Those cause more damage than diesel cars!!!

The article does mention commercial vehicles as well, specifically:

The overall direction for surface transport has to be in favour of E Vs, the report said. "Diesel-driven four-wheelers may be eliminated as soon as possible.

Therefore, a ban on diesel-powered four-wheelers in all million-plus cities and all towns with high pollution has to be enforced in five years, i.e. by 2027, the report said, adding that no diesel-powered city buses should be added in urban areas.

From 2024, all new registrations for city delivery vehicles should be only electric so that in the next 10 years, 75% of the city delivery vehicles can be electric in all the million-plus cities, the report said.

Bhai just feels like a way for govt to force public to upgrade. They'll get great money from the road and car tax
