Yea lemmy has failed as a reddit alternative too many toxic users .i bet all the downvoting and pdf file rumors is just from people who hate ai .i would think it may be other ai sites who want to take out the competition. but lemmy is not relevant enough for that to matter

He probably just hates ai . perchance started in 2017 and was not about ai but the dev decided to add some surprisingly impressive ai features. and this angered some of the old users despite it being great use of ai compared to most other ai sites that are more greedy and uncreative with it . some people really hate everything associated with ai regardless of what it does.

Yea people need to be grateful for the image generation and other creative features i tried to find good alternatives but it seems like everyone else is just copying each other or is hyper censored .while perchance is actually trying something different even with the chat most sites just do the same stuff even if the underlaying technology is better for this. they limit how you can use it just because they can't think of other things its quite sad

yea because for swf there are way more free alternatives that are better than perchance but perchance is the only one that doesn't censor or cost money

For me it works but its unstable sometimes it just becomes dumber or very slow for a few minutes it makes no sense

They also really need to bring back the weights or whatever its called because there is so much stuff just i can't make right now because it prioritizes the wrong stuff and think "a lot" means slightly more than normal

Yea perchances real strength is the image generation its really the only good one but the chatbots could be better. if it becomes on par with the others perchance will become my number 1 site for uncensored ai and totally destroys the competition. i also love how easy it is to make a character to chat with even if they are not the greatest ones i thought i was just doing it wrong since i was just copy pasting stuff from short stories i found online but other people also have these problems

this thing is fake there is no way to generate videos on perchance right now. i am not sure why there are trolls who keep making these bogus generators .

I hope this is just a glitch because this update so far has been a total downgrade no improvements at all. its better to just revert to the previous version. i was a big fan of the update they did in april 2025 and that one had some glitches too. but this doesn't seem to do anything the previous version couldn't and just has more limitations .

you wont find any good alternatives unless you like censorship or want to pay a lot for something that probably has the same problems anyway

I noticed the ai has some minor issues with offensive content involving racism .but i never got a message about it. it just avoids the topic

perchance was founded somewhere in 2017 or 16 but had no ai support until 2022 or 2023 . back then it was just a site were you could make and sare random text generators that were quite simplistic. but it was owned by the same guy most of that stuff is still on the site .when i started using it in 2024 the image generation was way worse. before 2016 the perchance org was owned by the green party of Ontario in Canada in 2013. and some german it company in 2009. right now ai video ganeration requires powerful hardware and judging from how bad the competition is and the fact that anything uncensored will have to deal with obstacles the censored ones don't have to deal with. it will probably take a few years i do believe it will come eventually but not soon maybe in 2030 or later

Right now the ai chat is very buggy i think perchance is great because of the images but the rp chat was never great

When it comes to anime if you just name them it will work on the more popular characters like goku but will not work on the more obscure ones. when it comes from characters from live action movies or real people it will be harder it will fail with all but the most popular characters .like i wanted to recreate scene from an old James bond movie. but James bond looked like the modern one while the villain looked like some random person .the only thing you can do is try to describe the character in detail and hope for the best

This seems unlikely it was generating topless characters when i didn't even ask for it recently .maybe there has been a botched censorship attempt in some regions

Yea i noticed something weird it works well with rare west european languages like Luxemburgish latin Occitan but not with Chinese or Russian or Indonesian

I was looking for perchance alternatives before the update because there was a lot of stuff it couldn't do that some premium ones could .but there weren't any that were actually free and actually uncensored it was really frustrating so i came back to perchance quickly .and with the update most of the stuff i wanted to make was now possible on perchance while the other stuff wants money for stuff that is worse or slightly better so until there is a competitor that is truly free and uncensored perchance is going to dominate

I tried it it is really weird it didn't generate a video and now its playing sound that sounds like the soundtrack for Shrek or some rpg game like wow with random medieval like sounds. this is not even close to what i asked for and i can't download it its just sitting there with a glitchy video player. i am impressed it did anything these things usually crash. they use 3rd party services since perchance doesn't support it but since these things always cost money. they sometimes have a trail but it doesn't actually work or do other things to make it seem free or freemium but it wont do anything for free
