What is going on with the up and down votes?
I've noticed a trend that somebody or some group is going around and mass down-voting everyone who asks anything on the forum.
I feel that's kind of a bad-form and juvenile act, but then again I'm not entirely sure if it's a single person on multiple alts, or a group of people that are attempting deliberate obscuration of important questions / information about the platform and it's activity.
Perhaps I'm seeing shadows and malicious intent where there isn't any, and it's just the community being... weird? But I find this to be something to bring up. A whole front page of nothing but down-votes makes me think that there's more going on than just people being unhappy with posts.

Yea the anti ai people have lost their mind and lemmy is a weird site were most of it is a weird hivemind even worse than reddit. but at least downvotes don't actually do anything on this site so it does not really matter unlike on reddit with the karma. But its a bummer that we cant post the stuff we make on perchance on most of the internet. they just want everyone to be miserable and be against the current thing .and then they complain that things are not improving and that they have to use crappy products while you can now just make your own stuff with ai help that used to be too hard.
Some of it I get, and some of it I don't.
I'm a pretty big advocate for using AI as a tool to create specific visions, and I think that AI is a great idea generator for things like concept art, prototyping, and getting something that fits a specific vision...
I also do think that human artists, coders, and the like should be employed by those who can afford to do so. A multi-million dollar company should not be using AI for anything related to a final product.
But that's just me. I love this site because it does what I've always wanted AI to do for a few years now and it does it for free AND well. It's not made for corporate use, but for the average every-day person.
People perplex me sometimes, and maybe I'm just stupid and don't understand why people would come to a forum about an AI just to... I don't know, boo in down arrows at every single post? It's whatever.
