I also found the graphics upgrade to look about exactly the same as the mods I was using except it performed WAY worse.

Ads and tracking infiltrated TVs. Now they're coming for monitors.

Ya that behaviour doesn't get my money. I am buying a screen. Not a computer.
I realize how that sounds given our tv stste, though. But I feel like monitors have much less of an excuse because they are literally designed to connect to computers as they always have been.

I don't follow.
I plug a monitor into my Linux desktop. Linux kernel and monitor talk. Linux driver for how to use the monitor is installed.
Unless you have some shit ass traitor developers creating the drivers, I don't see how this is a worry in an open source OS where you can remove any added junk anyway.

Employers are quietly rehiring the people AI replaced, and paying them less to come back
They should be paying more.

For those who grew up with the Internet Café, would you go back if they returned in the face of growing hardware costs?
Honestly, I'm good. We've definitely reached a point where graphically enhancement is so incremental it's not even worth it. I have a massive backlog and other older games I've missed. If sooner buy a used ps4 for bloodborne, for example. Witcher 3 is getting a new expansion. Let AI collapse on its own. I've enough unplayed games to last me a lifetime.
If game companies want my business, don't chase graphics. Chase gameplay quality instead.

This kind of just happened to me. It wasn't really AI per say but they eliminated my role and when things started going sideways they tried to do it themselves with AI and when it blew up they rehired me as a contractor.
