And then suddenly your kid has special needs that require constant supervision - it'll never be safe to leave them alone. For the rest of your life, you're now a caregiver, and you'll have to find someone to take over when you die. And find some way to afford all that.
And what if you birthed alone, or your fellow parent bails out or dies? Who'll take care of that child and who'll earn money? The US is deliberately built to make this devastating for anyone who's not already wealthy.
I have a special-needs pet who can't be left alone for more than a few hours. I have no desire to amplify that into a full-lifetime task.

How many Palestinians did the Israelis kill and displace from the time that the UK allowed them free rein to push into the territory after WWI? How many homes have they seized or destroyed?

If you work in the US, NDAs tied to severance are generally illegal.
Even so, I gave my last employer the benefit of silence for the amount of time my severance would have covered in regular salary. That time is now past.

Justice Alito says Congress lacks the power to impose an ethics code on the Supreme Court
Reply in thread
The Constitution declares that the House has the sole power to impeach, and the Senate the power to try the case. It does not limit the scope of such impeachments. Alito is just as subject to impeachment as any other member of the Federal Government.

What do you enjoy in GW2?
My account age is 545 days. I upgraded from free-to-play in December 2022.
Still haven't entered a fractal, or an instanced raid, or done WvW.
Still going through story on my first character, a squishy elementalist. I'm in LW3, but have unlocked most of the PoF mounts to make it easier to do the older content.
There's a lot more to do.

He is the Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction.
His rhetoric and actions show him to be anti-union, anti-labor, a white supremacist, a homophobe, a transphobe, a Christian nationalist, and he's determined to encode all of that in the Oklahoma education system.

“Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed.
That word is "Nazi." Nobody cares about their motives anymore.
They joined what they joined. They lent their support and their moral approval. And, in so doing, they bound themselves to everything that came after. Who cares any more what particular knot they used in the binding?”

This bullshit needs to stop. Can we please remove this guy from office?
In addition, a new state law now requires school districts to share a teacher’s misconduct history when they apply for a job at another school. This means records of terminations or potential criminal matters follow the teacher, making it much harder for someone with a history of misconduct to simply move and be rehired.
We also report every lifetime ban to NASDTEC, the national platform that tracks educator discipline across states. Already this year, NASDTEC has helped OSDE stop three former teachers from attempting to leave and continue teaching elsewhere after having their certifications revoked in Oklahoma.
Would that cops were held to the same standard.

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro confirmed to lack Wi-Fi 7 connectivity
My home internet is 25/5. I just upgraded the home network to Wi-Fi 6E, after years of Wi-Fi 4. While 7 would be nice to have for future consideration, it's still too expensive for me to adopt it.

Legislation could fix that. Unfortunately, politicians can be and are bought, so that's unlikely.

The 5a 5G, unless you're prepared to reflow the solder on the SoC. The 5a has had a high failure rate, including the one my household had. Google replaced ours with a 6a under extended warranty.
If you want an analog headphone jack, the 5a is the last one to offer it.
