Can you recommend me a Matrix instance using a rust based server?
I'm trying to get away from Discord's nonsense, but from what I can see it seems like Synapse is still very slow.
It's not about Highguard itself.
I believe it's not about whether the game is actually any good or not. It's about what Highguard represents.
Let's be honest, hero shooter isn't an oversaturated genre in any sense. Upon looking up what hero shooters are available right now I managed to find around five of them: Overwatch 2, Fragpunk, Valorant, Apex Legends, Paladins. If Highguard survives it will be the sixth.
That number is a joke compared to boomer shooters (which itself I'd argue isn't oversaturated in the first place) and downright sad compared to metroidvanias or deckbuilders. Don't even think about incrementals. But those releases don't get this near unanimous levels of animosity from the community.
The fact is liveservice games completely lost any goodwill they once might have had. 90% of the time nobody is excited when a new one is announced because almost nobody respects this genre. It's primarily seen as a soulless, corporate product made for maximum profit potential, and nine times out of ten that is true. Even if you give one a shot it can disappear a few years later (or two weeks in case of Concord), so all the money and time you've invested is down the drain. It's no wonder people look at this game and immediately start thinking about the apology tweet and the end of service announcement.
I believe if hero shooter devs want to be taken seriously by the community they need to adopt the Xonotic model. Xonotic is a community developed open source arena shooter. In Xonotic hosting and moderating the servers is the community's job. This immediately solves everything and is the reason a game with a playerbase measured in dozens can be sustained with effectively zero monetization. Translating this to a commerical title can be quite tricky but I think it has great potential.
Are there still options for phone VR?
I know it's very limited but I don't care. As long as it allows me to forget about the outside world for a moment it's fine by me. What can you do with phone VR in 2025 and what are the options out there?
What happens if you go to about phone, detailed info and tap on the processor a number of times?
I accidentally did this while trying to unlock developer mode a while back. Thankfully you have to tap a whole bunch of times so you can't do it by accident, I remember it telling me something about breaking the processor? I'm most likely misremembering, what would have happened if kept tapping the processor model?
Why did PinePhone fail?
Six years ago the entire Linux enthusiast space was super excited for the PinePhone, then everything fell apart. What went wrong? Was PINE64's favoritism towards Manjaro the sole issue or were there other problems?
Is Nova Roma a good choice for a casual experience?
I randomly decided it'd be nice to have a casual city builder to have in the library. If you've played Nova Roma, is it a good choice for that? Currently I don't want to get into something more advanced like SimCity 3000.
ADACA is incredibly good.
ADACA is a half-like. I'm seven hours into it and everything about it is just perfect. I love the low poly art style, the story and the world are pretty interesting, the guns are all great, combat is very satisfying, you have a gravity arm with a crazy amount of range, it's just an incredible game.
If you are a fan of 2000s first person shooter games you have got to play ADACA. I used to think boomer shooters were better but I get it now, we need more shooters like this.
Slay the Princess is so good guys.
If you haven't played it, you really should give it a try. It is one of the most creative games I have ever played and is now one of my favorite pieces of fiction ever. This game is the game that made me take visual novels seriously. Before this I just though they were all typical, anime-esque romance stuff. I want to try more of this stuff.
Western recommendations from the silent era?
I've started watching Westerns lately. I've watched the first hour of The Outlaw Josey Wales, very good stuff. So I have some sound films my list like Stagecoach, Searchers, Once Upon a Time in West, Lawman and Dodge City; but what about the silent era? I've only seen The Great Train Robbery from that part, what else would you recommend?
Among Us is being turned into an animated series
I think I have lost a piece of my soul upon hearing Owen Dennis is the one working on it. From Infinity Train to this...

Trying to do so gives the
404: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'send')
and
404: couldnt_find_community
errors respectively, do any of you have this issue aswell? Has this been already reported?
