The Reddit Protest Is Finally Over. Reddit Won.
Lemmy has taken me back to the birth of the Internet and Pirch. But like everything else when the word gets out???

Thanks to Mr CEO of reddit, lemmy be like
I've always been a lurker, but I'm finding it more easier to get involved here. Probably because it's all new and I don't think I'm going to get trolled for having a say. Heard a lot of lurkers say the same, we're finally happy to participate again lol.

Lemmy.world (and some others) were hacked
Any truth to what I've heard this may have been done by a group we defederated with?

I've posted more in the week I joined here than I ever did in Reddit.

It Took 23 Days for Lemmy Posts to Double from 1 Million to 2 Million
Want to see more people commenting on threads that have nothing to do with how well Lemmy is doing.

[META] Creating a new community is easy, but to get people on board, you need to create some content.
I joined the Glasgow community. I'm the only subscriber there!

Reddit kills awards and coins
Yep I just got my message from them saying if I don't use them by September, then they will take from me. I still have Reddit as a couple of subs I'm not happy to leave
I was given them by someone who gave me a gold award. I hardly ever bother with them, so do I start giving them out or let them steal them from me?
Edit :Giving them away on r/lemmy

/r/interestingasfuck forced open, lowers its standard of what qualifies as "interesting", gets flooded with adult content [NSFW within two clicks]
JustNoMIL changed their settings to NSFW and invited everyone to be as sweary as they could. Sub is now just people seriously using inappropriate language lol

This is how he tells me he wants to sit in the recliner with me. Putting his face on the edge and looking at me with sad eyes.
Well he's just awww and you know it.

Reddit Admins hand /r/SnackExchange over to a moderator with no experience. Other subreddit moderators fight in comments.

I'm afraid to say I'm a mod on FB lol, but it's a UK US based weather group that I'm very passionate about with 92k members.
Basically as a mod, never argue with a member, never show a member up to the rest of the group, there are better ways to deal with things other than flat out banning someone. Being a mod should be keeping things under control so the group remains a good place to go. That's all.
Our main problem is the fake accounts from the Military pilots wanting to speak to the lovely ladies or make you a killing with bitcoin lol.

Added some more known isues
One thing I've noticed being in the UK. If I come in early morning here it's pretty dead. But if I come in late afternoon it's really chatty and busy. So I'm assuming most people who have migrated here from Reddit are in the US? Not a bug related problem, but it would be interesting to know where in the world everyone has migrated from. Not sure if that's possible though.

What hobby do you have that no one else in your family shares?
I do pictures for people who have lost their furries over the rainbow bridge.

Reddit Refugees on Lemmy, how are you guys liking lemmy so far?
I was able to join Lemmy fairly easily at first. Then the updates happened on Lemmy World. Was almost about to give up because I was kind of made to log off then I couldn't log back in for the life of me.
Knew I had to be patient, but at one point I got so frustrated I just deleted the whole thing.
Downloaded it again a couple of days later and all was good. All sorted. Still learning though.

Are you guys still using your air fryers?
I love mine, but I mostly just use it for chips, baked potatoes, spring rolls etc. I'm never going to be one of these super air fryer cooks you see on you tube.

joining the fediverse to bitch about reddit is the same as going on a date, and spending the whole night talking about your ex

I know r/scams are getting it from admin for refusing to unmake NSFW.
Most of them are going to leave because they refuse to change it.
The amount of nasty comments from members of the sub towards the mods is awful. So a lot of folks on Reddit still aren't really getting it.

Happens to me as well. But I find that if I click sign out (no idea why it's saying that, as I'm being told I'm already signed out and need to log back in) it will bring up the log in again.
Also, if that doesn't work, if I click on my photo at the top it will bring up the log in and let's me back in again.
Weirdness.
