Could this become a "Caring is Sharing" sub, just like the old days

In a similar vein people on soulseek who have all their files locked unless you trade with them, particularly the ones who want gift vouchers and shit like that I feel goes against the community spirit of piracy as a whole. If I get hold of something rare or that has broken street date i'm excited to share it with others who may no be able to get it for whatever reason.

Really pisses me off scrolling through my search results seeing loads of lock symbols with user info listing demands that must be met for you to be oh so privaledged enough to receive a right to download from them. It goes against what I grew up knowing piracy to be, I'm guessing I am a similar age to you though.

And to all you soulseek users listing locked files with lists of demands to access them. Fuck you.

"Oh sh*t a flat" kit, do you have one? Here is mine

I carry nothing, I have cycle commuted on this bike 4 - 5 days a week for the last 7 years or more as well as doing rides for myself. When i first got the bike I had a couple of flats on the rear, I changed the tyre and since then I've had 1 flat in around 6 and a half years so I just don't see the point.

The flat I did have was a pinch in the front from a huge pothole I didn't see on a route I didn't know so it was what I would consider exceptional circumstances too.

How often do you actually use that stuff?

How does everyone feel about Stephen King?

I have been through just about everything I could find before around 2010 and a few of his newer ones and in my opinion I would just read everything.

Of course his supposed Opus are the dark tower books (which is what originally drew me in) and there are a fair few other books based around that world and gives nods to each other, some bigger than others.

Ones that I enjoyed a lot personally though (dark tower aside) are Talisman, Black House, Desperation, Needful Things, Cell, Under the Dome and definitely 11/22/63.

My least favourites were probably Cujo and Misery but people seem to rate them so that is more personal I think.

Stop fighting. Here are the official rules of Spotto

Yeh, self proclaiming "international rules" is utter bullshit, they could maybe claim national but this doesnt follow the rules as I know them from the UK.

Also who wants "points" it is all about an excuse to beat on siblings or friends when younger.

I have heard of "punch buggy" because of the internet but never knew of that as a thing when I was younger. We did the same thing but for minis and there was no name for it you just shouted MINI as your fist was flying in.

At what speed do you usually listen to your audiobooks? How often do you flip between the audiobook and the text, if both are available?

I only use 1x speed for audiobooks, i listen to them whilst at work and I want them to take up as much times as possible for me. I also don't want to miss anything if I'm concentrating a bit harder on a specific task I'm doing. Where as something like youtube I watched everything there on 1.75x speed because that is my own time and I want to get the info as quickly as possible.

I never read however. I've enjoyed getting into audiobooks because of the fact I find reading absolutely mindnumbing and it sends me to sleep so I'm glad to be able to experience all the good stories out there without having to read xD

The co-op own brand version of kettle are the best flavoured salt and vinegar crisps I have had in a long time as I have found most other brands taste more watered down these days. Don't know if that is changes or my taste buds getting old but they hit the spot!

DnB Community Update #6 or 7, can't remember

Hey man, been lurking since you pretty much started posting, just dont have much to post myself.

I have however been posting over in - https://lemmy.ml/c/dubstep pretty much every single day just trying to build content as that is more my area.

I dont know who created it or who mods it but it is the only dubstep community i have found so far. Im trying to post content based on the proper "real" dubstep sound and not the robots fighting brostep sound. I dunno if you wanted to create a community on lemmy world instead I would be happy to move my posting over to there just to have some cohesion of instance where all these bass music based communities live but i would be happy to do so.

Either way keep up the good work over here and I'll keep posting regardless xD

I'm trying Soulseek and people download the most obscure stuff

Love me some soulseek and looking through everything people get from me.

In terms of rooms I don't converse with anyone in them but I do always sit in the dubstep room purely because 90 percent of what I have is dubstep so I hope that people might see my name in the list and then explore my files allowing them to find some music they are interested in (hopefully)

I wouldn't even think to look for movies on there unless maybe I couldn't find what I wanted on any of the torrent sites so maybe that is what is happening, people come there as a last ditch attempt to find what they want?

I went into every book blind, if I had read about 11/22 prior I probably wouldn't have ever bothered giving it a go but as it is it is one that I have enjoyed a lot and come back to a few times. I hope you enjoy your journey, I'm jealous I can't go back through King again with no knowledge :D
