Anon gains a superpower

Can't forget immortality, which is shown pretty clearly in the movies with Bilbo and obviously Gollum, but also:
The Ring enhances the wearers "presence" and ability to influence others. Sam observes in the books how elf-like and majestic Frodo has become by the time they get to Mordor due to carrying the ring. At around the same time as this scene, we see Frodo impose himself on Gollum and the book remarks how powerful he looks and how his words seem to influence Gollum.
Later on, when Sam is carrying the Ring, this effect is noticed even more clearly when the orcs see his shadow not as that of a small hobbit but that of a powerful elf lord

The effects we've seen are on the pretty low race of hobbits, and would be even greater in someone of numenorian descent, but assuming it stops at those: Boromir would become an immortal, ultra charismatic leader who can also become invisible to everyone but the Wraiths and other spirits, which he can pretty easily take on 1v1

I won't believe the left is actually seriously preparing until I start seeing some Onion links around. We're probably on a list just for using Lemmy, which is notoriously leftist, and talking about this stuff publicly, unveiled, with a registered account is honestly below Hegseth level OPSEC

"You should create a group when demand is there and not the other way around." In other words, start from generalist communities, and create more specialized ones when there is a need. Do you agree?

I don't know, this kind of reasoning seems to create too much empty "content" and not enough real communities. Yeah, creating a bunch of generalist coms will get traffic and engagement, but the people there don't actually share anything in common, it's just a time waster.
I don't want Lemmy to be a time wasting app, I want it to have genuine communities with valuable content instead of endless AskReddit, AITA, AIO, etc etc etc. Therefore, I'm of the opinion that people should create communities about their hobbies and create high quality content there, which will drive demand. If the community ends up too specific, they can always just cross post to a more generic one as well.

Also, to add to that, it's important to know that nicotine is studied seriously by actual health organizations and has mixed evidence supporting it as a treatment for Alzheimers and other dementia cases. I understand the hatred for smoking and even tobacco, but we can't overreact and act like boomers hating on THC treatments.
Not to mention that spreading misinformation like this will only serve to get more people to smoke once they figure out some of what you're saying is BS

Not true. Nicotine is a stimulant, so it has most of the effects of other stimulants, such as increased alertness. This stuff isn't popular with high stress jobs because people want to be cool, it's popular because it works. Finance bros popping zyns are the same ones drinking coffee all day long, same as students vaping all day
