Being Called ‘Weird’ Is Only Making Republicans Weirder

I noticed the pivot in dialogue. I’ve seen him called weird a few times, which is the lesser quality one would think to call out compared to racist, fascist, rapist etc.

But I think that’s the point. All his heinous words (lies), personal attacks, and coups attempts have been normalized and the people have been desensitized. I see this pivot as a reminder of: THIS IS NOT NORMAL. This is not “all politicians are the same.” Instead of pointing to newest horrible thing, it reminds us we don’t need to be okay coexisting with fascism.

I think it unboils the frog a bit.

Cards Against Humanity sues SpaceX, alleges “invasion” of land on US/Mexico border

Reply in thread

Absolutely bonkers lmao

Of course imminent domain exists, silly. Yes, the government can force sales. Also squatters can be forcefully evicted through due process by the owner. That’s now what’s happening here. I can’t even begin to understand why it’s relevant.

Protecting the land means not letting it become part of the failed Wall, and not allowing building/dumping on it. As Elon has dumped his shit in their land, CaH is suing. Thats exactly what protecting the land is, buddy.

You seem to have a chub for Elon, or a chip against CaH. Not sure which, but you are waaaay off base lol

Cards Against Humanity sues SpaceX, alleges “invasion” of land on US/Mexico border

Reply in thread

Just buying land gives complete legal ownership and stewardship to the owner. They’re not obligated to do shit with it, and they bought it exactly so they could do nothing with it: keep it natural and pristine.

You seem to weirdly be invested in Cards Against Humanity being in the wrong, with the weird takes. They did exactly what they were expected to do- keep it pristine. What gives you any impression at all there were different expectations? Just flat out wrong.

Your whole comment reads like one of Musk’s alt accounts trying to rub defense lol. If you expressed any semblance of understanding why and how CAH acquired the land before you began with “this isn’t the first time they failed expectations, why didn’t they build anything?!,” maybe you’d get better replies

TikTok Ban Bill Becomes Law, Gives TikTok 9 Months To Sell

Reply in thread

I’d counter that basing your livelihood on an app that harvests your and your viewers data for an adversarial government known to use this kind of data in psyops isn’t a sound business idea.

In fact, I’d say this bill actually protects American users who have been using the app.

If TikTok can’t prove that they use our data responsibly, and refuse to do so to the point of just leaving the market, we are all better off. Another company will fill that void and content creators have endless options to move to.

I don’t think “but people need to make money while our data is harvested and provided to a government that uses it against us” is a great argument.

Brazil Blocks X After Musk Ignores Court Orders

Reply in thread

The usefulness of Twitter ended when Musk took over. This is absolutely a new positive thing, as it’s better to use alternatives as opposed to the fascist website. There are lots of communication alternatives available, so it’s not like people won’t have a way to communicate.

What's Happened Since Time Dropped Its Paywall 1 Year Ago

I mean, I don’t think accepting crypto would make or break any organization beyond a niche mom and pop operation. If they would die without accepting crypto, they are likely not going to be saved by it. I doubt there are many people, especially in the USA, who would or could only donate via that option.

In my personal opinion, crypto IS a scam and every organization would be best served dealing in real currency.

Trump files first election lawsuit in chilling sign of what’s to come

Reply in thread

We see Trump consistently make an outright lie, and in the same breath pivot to a personal attack such as “she’s a nasty woman.” This is another technique that adds something controversial after the lie so that the focus is on the controversial topic instead of the lie.

It makes it harder to peel what he says apart and puts space between the current point of conversation and the lie

RFK is a skid mark on the Kennedy name. He knowingly snake-oiled ivermectin, counter to the data and extreme majority of medical professsionals. Don’t pretend it was an “oopsie- he was told the wrong thing!” That’s super disingenuous.

He’s not even a good snake oil salesman. If you honestly believe the shit you used to defend him, I have some tickets to heaven I can get you for a killer discount lmao

Sex work would probably be less stigmatized in a currencyless society

We are talking about the world’s oldest profession here. Prostitution far predates the invention of currency, as transactional sex goes farther back than recorded history.

Currency is not needed for prostitution. All that is required is payment, in any form. This occurs during transaction, which constitutes trade.

I don’t think making prostitution more difficult by requiring barter solves anything at all.

Customers are furious with Sticker Mule’s pro-Trump mass SMS blast

I think it’s a bit more cut and dry. This late in the game, nobody that’s going to vote doesn’t already know about Trump and all of his controversies. Whether or not they get the facts from the news they consume, they’ve already been confronted with the ugly truth in some way at some point.

If they are still “not aware” that he’s a rapist, a violence proliferator, a traitor, or a fucking idiot, it just proves they are WILLFULLY ignorant. Which is no excuse.

They don’t get a free pass just because they actively ignore facts. It’s safe to assume they support Trump over literally anyone else specifically because he has these evil qualities.
