Kinda new to the whole sysadmin thing, but tmux has been an absolute game changer for me. No more remote desktop for long running processes, I can just do everything from ssh.

Kinda hard not to be when most people never expect anything good to ever happen again.

Save everything that comes in your motherboard box. Don't be the fool (me) who needs to buy m.2 screws on Amazon.

Same here. I've already posted more comments and posts in my short time here than I ever did on reddit. It feels a lot more interactive and I like it.

There's a lot of value in using an IDE, from just general formatting stuff to being able to tell what class functions do without having to dig into the class itself. Not to mention autocomplete.

There's lots of free solutions out there now, so if you're curious I'd give it a shot. I think you'll find once you start using one it'll be hard to go back to just a plain text editor.

I like vs code a lot, if you're looking for specific recommendations. It's lightweight and can be upgraded to do pretty much anything via extensions.

I personally like AE2 more. It's fun to work with the bandwidth of the 32 channels and plan the network carefully

I love Thaumcraft. I had to issue my fair share of public wizard apologies for polluting the immediate area by accident lol

I use duckduckgo with Google as a backup for when what I'm searching for is too specific. I've had to use Google less and less lately though

My first distro was Manjaro. It was really cool, but also I remember having some trouble getting things to work on it without super extensive troubleshooting.

Yeah, major miscommunication to say that it was lasting 48 hours. I will say it's kinda weird that was the initial plan for the blackout instead of just indefinitely. Some subreddits were going dark until the demands were met, but it confused a lot of people.
