How does Veracrypt work?
Reply in thread
Oh, I didn't know Veracrypt was portable?! Since Veracrypt is portable, that means I can store the Veracrypt software and encrypt whatever files I want on the same drive, correct? Then, it wouldn't matter if Veracrypt isn't installed on the computer and I can encrypt/decrypt the, right? I apologize in advance, I just want to make sure I fully understand what you said.

What are the advantages of portable apps?
Reply in thread
Ah ok. So it seems to work better for work and personal, makes sense. Something that can still work for me, but really not much privacy benefits. Ok, thank you for the feedback. * I already have Tails downloaded, so I do have a USB specifically designed for privacy all set. Just need to use it more!

This was one of the uses I was thinking of. To test apps and if I don't like it, can just simply delete it. Good to know I'm not the only one. Thank you.

Are there donation platforms that can accept Monero donations?
Reply in thread
It would mainly to set up recurrent or monthly payments. But if there is no way, then I'll just add my Monero address and they will have to manually donate monthly themselves if they wish.

Reply in thread
On the one hand, I know it's bullshit and they would just break the tools that a.) everyone uses, including themselves, and b.) it just brings even more chaos and will not solve the problems that they think. On the other hand, I feel they just don't give a shit and want to go through because they know that enough people will probably just give up and accept it, which will lead lawmakers to continue with these surveillance tatics because they'll believe people are ok with it. I don't think it's going to work, but I feel we are at a point where they just don't care and will push on through with some way to damage VPNs. I apologize if I'm coming off pessismistic, but's hard to try to be positive when it's not one country, but many countries that want to restict or ban VPNs and this just part of the plan to dismantle privacy. We'll see what happens in the coming months.

I saw a post on the privacy community that someone encountered that mobile QR code that Google is demanding you scan. I'm not scanning a sketchy QR code from Google. Just another way for users to be further entrenched in their services.

What To Do When You Can't Find a Job?

Perhaps that's why I haven't heard anything back from Walmart. I didn't put open availability and now they won't give me a response. That's ridiculous. We all have a life outside of working! Anyways, perhaps I should amend my application to open availability and see if that changes anything. I also look into Dollar General. Thank you for the advice!
