CEO-to-worker pay ratio went from 20-to-1 in the 1960s to about 400-to-1 now.

“Does anyone know why this is happening?”

Yes. Thom Hartmann and others have written about this. It started after the civil rights, antiwar, feminist, peacenik, environmental, etc movements of the 1960s and early 70s.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated specifically because he was uniting poor Whites with Blacks, calling for Socialism, and launching the Poor People’s Campaign.

It was a conscious, deliberate response by the elite — against the economic and political warfare conducted by the middle class in order to eliminate the classist systemz of oppression.

iirc Brave has a terrible policy Not good More like … a honeypot

At least Ecosia supposedly plants lots of trees (which we desperately need)

We need like a quadrillion NET more trees than we have right now

it’s not just carbon sinks it’s also water vapor (evapotranspiration) it either forms clouds that rain (if lots of trees) or it just makes the atmosphere hotter

the internet has a big physical footprint

i don’t think tokens help.

moreso for those who (as w many of us) hv poor/low sense of self-value/self-resilience

i just hear that a lot from tech nerds “my body is stupid/irrational” etc

and it’s like “or maybe we need better models to listen to & make sense of it”

How satisfied are you with your job

Four criteria to consider:

  1. What are you good at (or hv potential to become good at)?
  2. What is i. fulfilling & ii. replenishing for you?
  3. What does the world most need?

Find an intersection of those three.

Then make a LiberaPay or OpenCollective for the fourth (what supports your livelihood). Also courses in entrepreneurship/small-biz/TooQuiet2Market.

My response to those sorts of ridiculous claims is, •Huh. I guess you haven’t heard of “intersex”. What do you call a human baby who was biologically born with bits of both??

That usually stumps them for a bit. Data-does-not-compute. Oe they ignore it and go back to their original point. … at which pt i have to hold empathy-space & validation (≠ does not equate with agreement/condoning, see footnote [1])… … and then — if and only if they seem open — ask them about if they’re aware that some human babies — to be clear, not trans folx in most case (well except by way of uninformed/nonconsent at birth, ugh) — but some human babies are born intersex.

usually tho i just leave it and no pt in doing so online usually

[1] hold empathy-space & validation does not equal & does not equate with agreement/condoning btw, as any good de-escalation specialist (like an fbi hostage negotiator or a therapist or life-coach) can tell explain better than i can rn.
