No it isn't. You can wash cast iron with regular dish soap, unless you're still using lye soap. The "cast iron is difficult to clean" stuff is corporate propaganda from Teflon.

Mensa is a private society where you pay for membership and take a test which cherry picks from actual standardized intelligence tests and are openly available so you can practice them. Proper ones used in neuropsychology measure more than just pattern recognition. I don't know why Mensa has gotten such a prominent place, but it shouldn't be regarded as the benchmark for anything.

It's only natural to fall out love with things over time. I too burned out on high fantasy, however, I did really enjoy Joe Abercrombie's low fantasy setting in the first law series.

Slightly late reply, but I would highly recommend the audiobook version narrated by Steven Pacey, he brings a lot of life into it. But if you've already bought the physical books then it's probably a hard sell 😅

Fully agree. It's strange that people think that being aware of ones deficits is beholden to people of above average intelligence. Being aware of your own limitations is a pretty basic human trait.
