The last time this happened in America, we got reality TV. One such reality show involved an orange NYC landlord playing the lead character where he was depicted as a strong and unchallenged leader. Some can argue that it was enough PR for him to begin yet another run for the presidency, one that culminated in what Jello Biafra summed up with the sentence, “Are we fucking serious?”

Simple. Your users don’t care if it’s insecure. They click on fake password reset emails. You’re the bad guy here. They still haven’t forgiven you for requiring them to enter numbers when they want to log in.

Does this regulation require user-replaceable batteries, or just batteries users can replace with light tools? Are we talking a return to BlackBerry, or will iPhones without glue suffice? I’d honestly be more concerned about opsec (operational security). There’s three facts about you that someone with too much free time (or nation-state funding) can begin to arrange.

That's what I don't like about Lemmy. However, that's what happens when you have federation. If one /c/Apple doesn't fit your needs, join another /c/Apple. If one /c/Apple gets taken over by a crazed moderator, use the other one. You decide which one you want to post in, but you can follow them all and comment on as many or as few as you want. It's slightly annoying, but that's just how it works.

I use the Windows version of Scrivener 3 on Linux. It works almost perfectly. Sometimes it’ll freeze after opening a file, but force-quit and restart the app, and it’s fine.

Making a website is cool, but don’t forget about the most important thing: content! You can start writing now, and save your work in Word/Writer/Notepad/whatever until you’ve found or built a place online to publish it.

The states can’t even agree on hot dogs and pizza. A meal representing everyone could feed a neighborhood. (And if you do make it, invite me!)

It can be done. Just don’t cheap out. A USB4-attached NVMe disk will be faster than a run-of-the-mill USB 3.0 flash drive, and that will run circles around some cheap $10 USB 2.0 drive.

Not all flash drives are rated for constant use, so be sure to have a backup plan.

Other than that, it’s a cool idea! Go for it!

I’m a fan of the Affero GPLv3. It’s like the GPLv3, but it closes a potential loophole where if someone runs my code on a backend server, they wouldn’t have had to provide that source code to users.

Lately, I’ve been listening to Ghost’s “Impera”. The front half is better, but the second half is still quite solid.
