Any recommendations of countries to block from server logins?

I would say white-list instead of black-list if possible.

Beside the point, have you considered the reasons why you might not want to run your own email server in todays age? It’s a fun experience for sure, but if you want it for serious use it’s not for the faint of heart (unfortunately).

Edit: also lol to your friend unknowingly conducting a spam campaign from your server

Random internet people explaining math better then math teacher

Reply in thread

Not really sure if this answers your question (I agree with you, ultimately), but here’s my experience:

At the college I attended, these sigma/pi expressions weren’t taught until the end of Calculus 2, but I wanted to take an Algorithms class - which had calc 2 as a prerequisite.

I got an exception from my advisor which allowed me to take Algorithms before the pre-req. In my experience, these concepts were easily learned in the context of algorithmic complexity.

Some might be barred from learning important theory in computer science by “brutal” math classes at university. They might find solace in this post which translates sigma into ‘for’

Is it just me or is Starfield kinda meh?

Most low level enemies drop weapons that only deal between 3 - 11 damage, which are basically useless against anything higher than level 5. I found some higher level weapons in a shop that dealt 30 - 40 damage and found they made combat much more fun.

As I progressed however, I noticed that enemy levels in a location were distributed:

  • 4-5 low level
  • 10-15 med level
  • 1-5 high level

So there is still a problem with bullet sponges. I keep an overpowered shotgun (med damage, high rate of fire, explosions on crit) with me and just bum rush the high level enemies with that. Otherwise you’d be shooting them all day with your 40 damage rifle.

As you go on, those high level enemies drop weapons that do more damage, so there is progression…. But you also just encounter higher level enemies with more health so the problem continues.

I see that there are already combat rebalance mods on nexus, the kind I’ve used on Fallout games in the past, and I’ll probably install one of those when I decide to start a new play through. (Which, I definitely will. I’m enjoying the game a lot overall despite there being some tedious aspects)

I’ve heard before it’s because 1/3 can be represented as a whole number.

Just like feet, which can have 12 inches. But if we want to get more precise we start cutting inches into eighths for some reason 😅

Correct! This was actually not the summit, but a few bluffs west of there. Anyone who wants to get here should take the mirror lake trail and follow signs for Tom, Dick, and Harry.

At this particular spot was a rounded out rock which made for the comfiest natural seating I’ve come across yet! 😁

I’m flying into Tokyo on a Thursday. Going to stay a night, then take the train to Osaka for the weekend til Tuesday. Then heading west to Hiroshima for a bit, back to Osaka for the next weekend. Spend a night in Kyoto, then back to Tokyo until I fly out.

That’s the loose itinerary at least, I really have no idea what I’m going to do while I’m there 😅. Lots of walking around town and maybe some nature excursions if anything calls out to me.

I was going to go with a friend, but life got in the way and they had to bail. So I’ll be flying solo - it’s a bit daunting but I figure the one bag strategy might work well. Less stuff == less to keep track of and worry about.

(Although I am packing a day bag in my one bag 😁)

Oof yeah. You’re well into admin territory here.

I mean I’m just some layman on the internet, but I would look at tying in some authentication layer to get your 2FA, although it would inconvenience your users users.

Do your users use this service for srs business?

I don’t know if I have anything else to add to this discussion. It’s gotten more complex than what “just an email server” can provide imo

USB outlet plugs in Japan

Reply in thread

Yeah, duly noted. I want to avoid ever plugging a usb device into some wall - mounted usb plug.

I’m looking at picking up some “brick” chargers - the type that usually come with a phone (at least in the past).

I already have a power bank that I plan on bringing - it’s a bit older tech, But it still boasts a large battery bank and I’m hoping it’ll work for the pocket Wi-Fi and phone during the day.

It’s true. You can already see some smoke in this picture. About an hour later it started to become much worse.

There are fires in Oregon to the south, and fires in Canada to the north. Someone said we were likely seeing smoke from the South today, but maybe a bit of both, and since winds died down it just settled in the valley. It’s obscured views through the afternoon and into the night. Hopefully clears up by morning
