If I'm being honest it's probably been a decade since I participated in New on reddit. It was just so much.. but I don't mind putting in some work again.

The state of the internet 2023

I wouldn't say its unpopular, but I do agree its a bit ignorant but not in the probably negative way you mean.
I think its your acceptance that its fundamental that "Business MUST profit and we MUST suffer to allow them to profit"
You're making a huge leap that we need to suffer through all of the internet getting worse just because a corporation wants to profit. Fuck Google, Fuck Reddit, fuck all businesses that fail. Who cares? We owe them nothing.

Yup, I might be misremembering, but there were at least a couple Sun Solaris keyboards with PS/2 style connectors on the left. Maybe some old Apple ones as well.

Honestly it's a nice walk even without the birds. It's also late fall on a sunny day. You can see lots of nests and into areas foliage usually blocks

UoT study: Downtown Vancouver has not recovered to pre-COVID activity levels, at 46% of baseline levels
Was recently in Manhattan. Compared to that, Vancouver is a paradise. Some of the worst streets ther 7 out of 10 places boarded or abandoned. Worst of all. Its only chain places that survived. Part of the appeal of Manhattan is all the places run by locals and the lack of chains everywhere. It got "better" the more expensive the neighborhood was of course. Ultimately a huge win for Capitalism and consolidation of wealth.

Is there any evidence that Reddit has suffered at all from the exodus to Lemmy?

We'll be fine as long as there isn't corporate or financial interests. More humans of all kinds is fine. Making Mastadon and Lemmy unfriendly place for "profit", (marketing and advertising) means that greed won't drive people's behaviour. Greed for clout is still greed.

Not all revolutions require blood, but I feel like capitalism is going to fight real hard to stay around. Even though that's exactly what needs to go

It certainly has been in the past. And it's mostly the retail places not the bodegas that I see shutdown.. but still it was pretty rough.

Did you not play the other Larian games? This stuff is pretty fundamental to their games.
