Yeah, I was looking for insight into that whole weirdness, which the article fails to provide. I'm sure it's something completely irrational.

Your period fell outside the parentheses:

I know, it gives me the heebie jeebies to end a URL with a period too.
Edit: Oh, this looks like the editor also get the heebie jeebs; it's not you, it's lemmy.

Don't follow royals at all. Why would anyone care if she's in this?

The article mentions an "intense" backlash. Also fabricated?

I find your inability to understand why an American is more afraid of ICE than a Chinese government agency really perplexing.
But, in honor of your concern, I will forthwith carry a rock that keeps away Chinese agents.

Yeah, it's sort of like a base. I just know for me learning Latin, I was super anxious and would just drill on the tables over and over again and that was ultimately not a good use of my time--as I'm sure you'd agree.
I still try to have little recitations, especially for irregular conjugations to remind myself that they're irregular. If I conjugate them in isolation, I'm more likely to construct it regularly instead of irregularly.

I'll pick up a cheap android and put Lineage on it before I buy another flagship phone.

Windows 10 China Government Edition supports Mandarin Chinese only, region locked.
I wonder if China asked to compile it themselves.

I'll take my chances with the CCP over ICE any fucking day of the year.
We are always under more threat from our own governments than a foreign one and I do not live in China or China-aligned country. I'm safer with my data in Beijing than in Redmond.
And that's the worst case scenario. Likely, it's enough of a win for China to have an OS that the US doesn't have backdoors into without China needing their own.

Easy target for Iranian missiles. Plus Israel is a demographically sinking ship.

Yup. It's good to have that sort of "written down" in your brain like that, but you want individual pathways to each form eventually. If you're just learning as a hobby and are waiting until you're thrown into immersion to really learn, I guess it's not bad.

Yup. And if I were a foreign government interested in collecting data, I'd definitely start up a low-cost VPN. You can't trust anyone.

I find spaced reptition of individual forms is the best way to learn conjugations. Use an app like anki or just write the damn things out on index cards. The KOFI series of conjugation decks for Anki is excellent.

Source that China is using its backdoors to share information with the US? I mean, it very well might be, at least it's an extra step. I'm saying I'd rather not share my information with anyone, but if i had to choose, it would be a foreign government ahead of my own.
I'm not sure where I'm going wrong, there.
