Meghan Markle’s Reported ‘Gentlemen’ Role is Off—The Media Completely Made It Up
According to The Guardian, former Vanity Fair and New Yorker editor Tina Brown said Saturday that she had been told Markle would no longer be joining the Netflix crime series. “I learned this morning that the casting of Meghan Markle in season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen has been withdrawn,” Brown wrote. “The backlash in the UK was so intense, it became untenable to go forward.”
Sean quickly challenged that account. Responding to Brown on social media, he wrote, “It was never on—I know #guyritchie total fabrication that you and the rest of the Media decided to run with.” Sean also tagged Deadline while calling the story “ridiculous.” His account directly conflicts with reporting from multiple outlets that Markle had been discussing a role in the series.

Days without nonsense, zero.
Don't follow royals at all. Why would anyone care if she's in this?
She was never in it. The media made it up to humiliate her publicly by saying she had been dropped from the production.
She was never involved in the production to begin with.
This is more of an issue with the media lying than with the royals specifically.
The article mentions an "intense" backlash. Also fabricated?
The backlash may have been real (the Brits have a.....weird relationship with Megan), but it was only in response to the made-up claim that Megan was going to be in the series.
Yeah, I was looking for insight into that whole weirdness, which the article fails to provide. I'm sure it's something completely irrational.
It's as weird as it is on its face - the British media made up a story in order to embarrass Megan Markel. That's it. That's the story.
The racism and sexism allowed in the media was enough to fuel this.
