I love EVERYTHING there except

Saved servers and settings will not be migrated from Jellyfin Media Player.

I can fix it, and it's no big deal, but I provide services to friends and family who'll need me to walk them through it.

That's the stuff where we lose out to corporate products.

100%

Ads, selling private data, adding AI, cutting features.

I just need JF to be in the same neighborhood as the corporate stuff for security and end-user ease of use. I can do a hell of a lot of complicated stuff on my end, but walking grandma through a change is painful.

My #$%^ HOA only socializes through FB groups. Been trying to drum up interest in a defederated Frendica or something, but can't get any traction :( I've unliked all the stuff and unfollowed everything else, but I can't GTFO of it any further without being unable to deal with my neighbors civilly

Thanks for the link. God we do this all the time at work. I didn't know it had a name.

Everyone wants to contribute. Big things are scary and have the attention of the most senior staff. When a small thing hits the table, everyone has input and isn't afraid of looking stupid or getting called out when they feel ways about, say, the look of a company directory.

When big issues are on the table, they wait for the subject matter experts to chime in and contribute little for fear of getting getting called out for being trivial.

Always felt like there was middle ground there that was never tread.

Google is intentionally throttling YouTube videos, slowing down users with ad blockers

Reply in thread

It will happen eventually. All they need to do is start new/rotating keys on wildvine and put the ads at random times right in the stream, then disable fast forward if you use it to skip ads. It'll be a UX hit, so it'll need to be worth it to them.

In the end, they can't stop us from HDMI capturing and using comskip to detect / remove but there are a million ways to play tag between where we are now and that which don't require people posting videos to pirate bay :)

I absolutely hate what Plex has become. I bought a lifetime pass a long, long time ago, and ever since that purchase, they seem to have done nothing but strip features I need and force features I don't want.

Now if we could just sort the jf collections type in ways other than by date ;)

I Tried Pre-Ordering the Trump Phone. The Page Failed and It Charged My Credit Card the Wrong Amount

Not where I was going for that, more like museum pieces. He's really done a bunch of shit we absolutely should NOT have allowed. A president, releasing a phone, while in office for a grift. Our great grandkids (hopefully) will be walking through the Smithsonian going what the FUCK was going on in the 20's, and one of these e-waste POS will be sitting there staring back at them.
