TOSHA rules Impact Plastics not responsible for Hurricane Helene deaths

WJHL reports, "The management of Impact Plastics acted reasonably and gave employees enough time to leave safely on the day Hurricane Helene struck the Tri-Cities, according to Tennessee OSHA." Civil suits alleging employer misconduct are still pending, including a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Johnny Peterson.

Welcome to Johnson City on the Reddit Upgrade

... or so Lemmy would have you believe. I'll consider it an upgrade when I don't have to explain what it is any more.

Soooo, how bout that time change, huh? Like a giant middle finger to those of us who have to go to work and school before daylight. I wish they'd just leave standard time active. I mean, for one thing, the having to wake up before sunrise thing. For another, wouldn't it be nice not to have to wait till 9:50 PM for fireworks on July 4? Who does daylight still at 9:00 PM benefit, anyway?

But nope, the more popular leaning is to keep Daylight Savings as the standard time. I wish someone could help me see the value beyond "it gets dark later".
