Venus has similar gravity to Earth. It is just about the same size and density. The atmospheric gasses can be turned into many different kinds of compounds provided enough energy and you could theoretically mine ore from the surface. It is much closer to Earth than mars as well. We recently detected through spectroscopy gasses in the atmosphere that are associated with the byproduct of life, so scientifically, it makes sense to have a science facility above the atmosphere to experiment further. The reality is that it’s more technically achievable to send a facility in orbit around another planet than to build a ground facility. Far less fuel needed. The gases in Venus’s atmosphere might also be able to be used as fuel.

People do care if you are late though. Friends and co-workers wait for you to arrive before starting a meeting or activity, but you are now always the very late one. You are tolerated, but will be kept at arm’s-length because they know you are inconsiderate. You can be 5 minutes late to some meetings in order to feign that you are really important and your previous meetings went over because people wanted more of your time, but if you go much more than that frequently, you are just unreliable.

My DoorDasher picked up my order the other day and went to a mall parking lot and sat there for an hour until the order was cancelled since DD couldn’t get ahold of them. They presumably ate it. They should be deactivated. Bad workers shouldn’t get extra protections.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube about how to replace a screen. Most of them that I have seen have a pane that only works once and then when you remove it, you replace it with rubber tubing that they sell from the store. They sell a special tools kit to pry the original pane off and some rollers and clips to get the screen back in nice by pushing the tubing into place without the groove. I recommend cutting a piece of wood to the exact spacing that the screen needs to maintained since making the screen tight can warp its profile and not fit correctly.

I hope it succeeds though. It is exciting to be at the start of humanity becoming a spacefaring race. The idea that we might be able to see the Earth from space in our lifetime is amazing. I think people that venture into the unknown are inspiring. It’s great that we are pushing the boundaries of what humans can achieve. Sure, there are problems on Earth, but solving space problems makes it seem like figuring out our differences should be trivial given what we can achieve. Damn this is some good weed.
