What’s a compliment you’ve never forgotten?

"You dont take energy to be around".

Said to me by an extremely introverted person, she often skipped events even with close friends because she would not have the capacity for it.

She told me that she liked having me around because it didn't cost her energy and often would be restorative for her when we would hang out.

I've gotten that a few more times from other people over the years. Feels pretty good.

As always, thank you all for your hard work keeping this place running.

I understand that it might be difficult to arrange more than cash donations, but would you all be interested in hardware of any kind to help support the instance?

Happy to help in any way that I can!

Not that I've had much luck with this, but I have tried to explain to customers/managers that the work is like to do is preventative.

Sure it's "expensive" now, but this reduces potential failures AND reduces maintenance time in the future.

This means we spend $ now, but save $$ later 🤷🏻‍♂️

Aha! I thought I remembered seeing that post.

I have a bit of an older server which may not be of interest due to the aforementioned power constraints but: Supermicro SYS6037R-TXRF 64GB RAM Dual E5-2640 (ish?)

~8x 3TB SAS 7200 rpm drives

For power/space constraints, would something like the bee-link me pro or similar be of interest?

I am so glad you had a friend like that.

Somewhere along the way, I found myself collecting friends who didn't seem to "fit in" anywhere else.

Now, more than ever, I try my best to create or hold a space for people to feel welcome and safe.

I hope that you still have the people and space to reliably recharge!
