After YouTube started filling their search results with mostly shorts, I stopped using it for new stuff. It's terrible now.

TIL In the Hot Coffee lawsuit against McDonalds, punitive damages were given due to McDonalds intentionally overheating coffee to save money on refills
When you dive into that case, you definitely side with the lady. She had some pretty serious burns, like way beyond what most of us would get if we spilled coffee that we made at the house.
If my memory serves me well, she originally only asked them to cover the medical expenses. So their greed ended up costing them far more.

People who work from home all the time ‘cut emissions by 54%’ against those in office
And time. Instead of commuting, I'll mow my grass, water the plants, do some chores, etc.
My wife commutes and can't work remotely. I try to consider that and do more chores to bring balance.
That extra 20-30 minutes in the morning and 40 minutes in the PM is priceless, actually.

Walgreens CEO describes drawback of anti-shoplifting strategy: ‘When you lock things up…you don’t sell as many of them’
It's not even that, it's their ultra short staffing that drives people away. I'm not going to go hunt for an employee and wait another twn minutes for someone with a key to open it up.
Home Depot does that and I get tired of waiting and order it from somewhere else.

No doubt. I'm starting to eat healthier because a bag of Doritos is like $5 now when I used to buy it for $2.50-3.00. That's just one example, but across my snacking 'units', everything is outrageous.
I'm eating less and healthier 'units'.

A fine is merely the cost of doing business.
If we want change, there needs to be jail time.
