The sign will still be blocking a bike path on Monday morning. No need to wait to see that.

Google says it can’t fix Pixel Watches, please just buy a new one | With no official repair program and no parts, broken Pixel Watches are just e-waste.
On the other hand, a Garmin Fenix can be easily opened with an inexpensive tool and replacement parts are easily found online.

My censored edit to the draft
In well-functioning teams, devs aren’t publicly shamed. We learn and move on.
The peer reviewer, who is often more senior, missed the issue too.
And if there was no peer review, then that’s a process issue, not a personal issue.

I swapped the entire school computers to linux mint
There is way to do this that works with even older computers and is easy to manage.
That’s with Edubuntu and thin-client computing using the Linux Terminal Server project, LTSP.
In that model, you install Linux once on a server. Each computer in the lab is set to boot over the network from the server.
This way there is one computer to maintain, the users can’t access root and all the storage is centralized.
Even old computers with low CPU and RAM and no hard drive can make good thin clients.
A number of schools have been using this approach for 15+ years.

Nobody is talking about the “3996 characters left”.
That’s room for a novel of positivity.

Why can't I just buy it without being charged for preinstalled spyware?
Buy a Framework, System76 or something else with first class Linux support.

A floppy disk is fine, just like Photoshop uses terms like dodge and burn, references to obsolete dark room methods, like cutting and “pasting” were literally how some layout projects worked.
Referencing the last physical incarnation of saving a file seems fitting!

I’ve been at this for 25 years and a restriction on variable name length hasn’t been a problem since then.
A good senior dev shouldn’t just be older, they should have continued to learn and evolve.
I do remember texting abbreviations because we texted on a number pad with no autocomplete.
Everyone I know was happy to switch to better keyboards and autocomplete as soon as they were available.

From 'quiet quitting' to 'coffee badging' — why employees are less interested in work
I know someone who does this. He’s more productive at home, and near-zero people he meets with at the office, but there’s a mandate to badge-in so many days a week. So he does.
He’s not slacking, he’s being made less efficient by complying with a broken policy.
