How different are RISC-V laptops?

I don't have a RISK-V laptop, but I do use an ARM Linux laptop as my private laptop. Even after about 10 years you still find quite a lot of software that is not distributed (in binary) for ARM. Sometimes you can compile it yourself, sometimes it's just not possible for a normal user.

So check if what you see as minimum requirements is possible right now, and see that you are clear how to get it. If your requirements are met now, then it can only be better in the future.

Reply in thread

Linux on ARM Thinkpad X13s

Well. The new Snapdragon X Elite appears to be quite ok.

The Snapdragon 8cx is a now slightly older model, but I think when it came out was also not on par with Apple.

That said, I find the Thinkpad X13s quite responsive, so for me it's ok. I suppose it depends on your use case.

Yes, you can switch between accounts. In Profile->Settings->Accounts->Change Accounts Settings ->Add

After you have added a second account you can then switch between them with a select list at the top of the main Feed screen.

I have actually read your forum discussion when I tried to install Fedora myself. I did not manage to do it.

In step 2, did you copy the dab file to the usb stick ? For me that's always write protected.

On my SYSTEM_DRV I have the dtb already from my previous adventures.

In the end I did not get it to work. I still use openSuse Tumbleweed. That works good, but I also sometimes think an immutable system should be great.
